𦴠Osteoporosis Awareness π¦΄
Osteoporosis weakens bones, making them more prone to fracturesβeven from minor falls. Itβs especially common in women, with up to 1 in 3 affected, often due to hormonal changes after menopause.
Know your risk factors:
βοΈ Female
βοΈ Over 40 / postmenopausal
βοΈ Family history
βοΈ Low activity levels
βοΈ Smoking or excess alcohol
βοΈ Low calcium intake
Early detection is key. A simple DEXA scan can identify reduced bone density before fractures occur.
What can you do? πͺ Stay active with regular exercise
π₯ Ensure adequate calcium & Vitamin D
π Stop smoking & limit alcohol
π©Ί Seek professional advice if at risk
