What NOT to do in December!

December is often the month when we realize that another year is almost gone and maybe we have not realized the intentions, made the changes or achieved the goals as we hoped to do at the beginning of the year.

As this feels a bit uncomfortable (to say the least) we tend to promise ourselves that we will make up for all that 'first thing' in January and start to set intentions, make plans and commitments and, of course, list our new year's resolutions.

This instantly makes us feel better, right?

But...

If you skip the discomfort of looking at what actually happened in the year that is ending and jump right into creating a shiny new vision for the year to come, you are likely to repeat the same old scenario all over again.

So, if you want to feel very differently at the end of 2022, this is what you need to do first.

1. Acknowledge things that did not work out and ask yourself why. No blaming or judgements here, just learning. We learn more from our failures than from our successes! You need to know what went wrong and why if you don't want to repeat your mistakes again.

2. Celebrate things that did work out and ask yourself what made it possible for them to work out? Being aware of your strengths and resources gives you a strong foundation on which you can build in the year to come.

3. Take the time (as much as you need to!) to go inside and connect to your heart and soul. Find out what really matters to you? What makes your heart light up? What does your heart, body, mind and soul truly need in 2022? Answer these questions and you will go into the New Year with a true intention and purpose - not a set of artificial goals and expectations that might not even be your own.

I know, that might sound like a lot... But I promise you will be very grateful to yourself for taking the time to do these steps.
