First and foremost, well done in taking the first step to getting help with whatever is troubling you. I genuinely understand and appreciate how hard it can be to be to seek help. About me
I have a warm, calm ,accepting, emphatic and understanding personality that will help put you at your ease. I am a good listener, genuinely like people and love my work as a counsellor.I will bring all my training, professionalism, empathy, resources, practicality and experience to support and assist you. I will provide a safe trusting, confidential space for you to tell me your story, experiences and thoughts. I truly believe and respect that my clients know themselves better than anyone and hold the key to resolving what is troubling them. Think of me as your personal guide who will journey with you to help you explore and identify the key to unlocking the door to a new healthier, happier way of being . Over the course of my career,I have counselled people across a broad spectrum of backgrounds and issues including anxiety, depression, relationships, family matters, bereavement and loss, work related issues, bullying, addiction, weight loss, career, retirement and aging anxieties. For many years I worked to support people who found themselves in this situation. I have also trained and worked supporting people effected by another person’s addiction. Sometimes it’s an unexpected event or crisis and other times it’s an on-going behavior or situation that has caused you anxiety, stress, low self-esteem and exhaustion. We can become overwhelmed and laden down with worries, anxiety and depression. We may be experiencing a sense of hopelessness and unable to make a decision or believe we can’t change anything. We may carry guilt, shame, anger and resentment. We might be effected by other peoples behavior,or we may feel stuck in a cycle of negative feelings about ourselves, our abilities and our choices
In our counselling session, we work together to resolve and address what is troubling you. Its important that you feel relaxed, safe and confident in my abilities and develop a trusting relationship. In a sense - that we click. I can assure you that there is no judgement or prejudices in my practice... I will work with you to find wellness, understanding, peace and growth to live your life in the manner and way you wish. We all have different experiences, learned habits, thinking, and ways of dealing with life’s troubles. If these beliefs and ways of dealing with issues no longer serve you and you want to change. My focus will be to help you untangle whats causing you distress, explore choices, coping strategies and solutions to achieve your goal.

In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.

Hello All,
Hoping to hear from the silent majority. All this is so exhausting! What's the point of having friends if you can't see one another's posts - it's nuts.
Fixed my blocked posts I wondered where everybody had been! This is good to know: It's ridiculous to have 1000 friends and only 25 are allowed to see my post. I ignored this post earlier, because I didn’t think it worked.
It WORKS!! I have a whole new news feed. I’m seeing posts from people I haven’t seen in years.
Here’s how to bypass the system FB now has in place that limits posts on your news feed. Their new algorithm chooses the same few people - about 25 - who will read your posts.
Therefore,
Hold your finger down anywhere in this post and "copy" will pop up. Click "copy". Then go your page, start a new post and put your finger anywhere in the blank field. "Paste" will pop up and click paste.
This will bypass the system.
If you are reading this message, do me a favor and leave me a quick comment...a "hello," a sticker, whatever you want, so you will appear in my newsfeed.

Today I found myself getting anxious, stressed, worried and thoughts turning negative and sometimes angry. When I realised that my negative thoughts were causing this I made a conscious decision to flip this. instead I turned my thoughts to what I was grateful for..I.m healthy, all the people I love and cherish are healthy and I have a job that enabled me to help some people today...then I went on a walk tonight .. positive thoughts have changed how I feel now..blessed , accepting, and relaxed. It's hard sometimes to make the choice to challenge out thoughts and take control of our thinking- to stop the worrying, stop the resentments, stop going over out hurts, fears, situations and insecurities..but it can be done .awareness is the first step and choice is our second. Try writing down 3 things you are grateful for...even the littlest thing like being able to make a cup of tea!! Mind yourselves and mind your mind. Talbot counselling.

How to cope with Social Distancing, self-isolation and quarantine
We have all been asked to take extraordinary new steps and change the way we live, work and socialise in Ireland in order to win the battle with Covid-19 and to keep us safe.
I am so aware of the emotional impact this may have on us. We hear frightening reports on TV and social media and its hard to get away from it all.
My advice is to limit your time checking for updates. Limit social media use. Instead set a time to look for updates etc. i.e. 9am 1pm 6pm
Distract yourself from focusing on Covid-19 through other useful use of your time, work, reading, music, exercise, tv, cooking, baking, Listen or look to comedy or something you know will lift your spirit and shift the focus from worry to relax..
I read a report from a lady in Italy who said she passed the time cooking meals she never had the time to do... baking the bread and reading the books she just never got around to in her pre lockdown life....She discovered inner strengths , peace and serenity in the simple pleasures of life ........ the ones she never had the time to do when she was so busy working.
If you are feeling anxious about any of this try taking a few deep breaths. In for 5 seconds, hold for 5 seconds and out for 7 seconds. This breaks the brain/thought link and instructs your body to relax,,,, there is no danger.
Stay Safe -Mind your emotional well being - DO SOMETHING NICE FOR YOURSELF NOW . Call me for phone counselling to talk through any fears or anxieties you may be having.

It is not the the bruises on the body that hurt. It is the wounds of the heart and the scars on the mind.
