Integrating tools from psychodynamic, humanistic, and evidence-based modalities Melisa offers a collaborative space, supporting clients to revisit and reframe fixed narratives.

Drawing from , Melisa works with her clients to shift how they position themselves subjectively, empowering them to explore more effective and fulfilling ways of addressing their challenges.

Her areas of experience include grief and bereavement, chronic or life-limiting illness and palliative care, psycho-oncology, clinical and surgical psychoprophylaxis, substance use, and migration and identity processes.

In her latest article, Psychotherapist and Eating Disorder specialist, Jacqui Tallon, explores the experience of living with an Eating Disorder from an informed and compassionate perspective.

🔍 Jacqui breaks down the complex and wide-ranging conditions that fall under the “Eating Disorder” umbrella and outlines key, often overlooked facts about Eating Disorders:

➡ Eating disorders (ED) are serious mental illnesses, not life choices.

➡ People with autism are at a higher risk of developing EDs such as Anorexia Nervosa compared to people who do not have autism.

➡ People with EDs have higher rates of su***de ideation.

➡ Between 20-50% of transgender people are at a substantial risk of developing disordered eating, and many report that eating disorders help them cope with body dysphoria.

➡ People with ADHD are more likely to develop binge eating disorder and bulimia.

John Duffy has over 30 years of experience as a Counselling Psychologist supporting clients through a wide range of issues.

For we are taking a look at the often misunderstood and complex condition.

Psychotherapist and Counsellor, Rachel Walker, defines obsessive compulsive disorder in 2 parts:

1️⃣ Obsessions

These are repetitive, upsetting thoughts or images that cause anxiety and distress.

2️⃣ Compulsions

These occur in response to obsessions. Compulsions can be repeated
thoughts or actions that are carried out to mitigate obsessions, and the fear and anxiety that they cause.

For those suffering with OCD, the disorder can be debilitating, affecting their ability to
take part in everyday life.
