IMW Spring Meeting February 2018

Many apologies for the lack of activity over the last 12 months. As some of you may be aware we have lost our sponsor and have had no success to date in finding a new sponsor.

However, the good news is that we still have some funds in the bank and plan to hold our Spring Meeting with the likely venue The Irish Writers Centre in February 2018.

We are also inviting entries for The Aindreas McEntee Writing Competition. The theme for this year's essay is "And Lead Us Not Into Ikea" and the closing date for entries is December 31 2017.

Dr Lindi Snyman is the winner of the 2016 Aindreas McEntee Prize.

IMW MIDSUMMER MEETING THURSDAY JUNE 16

The Irish Medical Writers Aindreas McEntee Midsummer Meeting, supported by an educational grant from Boehringer Ingelheim will be held tonight in the Dublin Convention Centre from 7pm – 11pm.

This year’s guest speaker is Lia Mills, author of “Fallen”, chosen as this year's One City, One Book selection for both Dublin and Belfast.

The 2016 Aindreas McEntee Prize will also be presented at the meeting.

IMW MIDSUMMER MEETING 2016

The Irish Medical Writers Aindreas McEntee Midsummer Meeting, supported by an educational grant from Boehringer Ingelheim will be held in the Dublin Convention Centre on Thursday June 16, 2016 from 7pm – 11pm.

This year’s guest speaker is Lia Mills, author of “Fallen”, chosen as this year's One City, One Book selection for both Dublin and Belfast.



We will be serving dinner at 9pm and would be delighted if you can attend. Please let us know if you can join us as spaces are limited.

This event is for members only so please send your membership of €20 by cheque to Colin Kerr, Irish Medical Writers, 27 Belgrove Road, Clontarf, Dublin 3.

Please remember that IMW is a not for profit group and all money contributed helps us to run our annual dinner and the Aindreas McEntee writing prize which is open to all members.

The 2016 Aindreas McEntee Prize will also be presented at the meeting and closing date for entries is Thursday June 9. Entrants should write a short story (max 900 words) on the topic:

“A Long Conversation About Nothing" and send it to colin@irishmedicalwriters.com

DEADLINE FOR AINDREAS MCENTEE WRITING PRIZE

The deadline for the annual Aindreas McEntee Writing competition for members of Irish Medical Writers is Thursday February 5th.

Entries should be original works of fiction not already submitted for publication or awaiting publication. Word length 800-850 words.

Presentation of prizes is at the Irish Medical Writers Spring Meeting on Thursday February 12th in the Dublin Convention Centre. First prize is €350.
