In the orchard that was in Knockrose Garden, there is only one surviving apple tree. This produces cooking apples. We harvest what the tree gives us & the Blue Jays don't peck. We store the good apples on old fruit storage trays in an old stable. They can last until next Spring. We are most grateful...

Milk churn outside the old dairy at Knockrose. The cows were milked in the cowshed, their milk was then brought into the dairy and poured through a filter into the churn which when full, was wheeled with others in a cart down to the gate & placed on a platform for collection by the Hughes Dairy Creamery truck. If the milk was deemed suitable, the Knockrose book would be credited, churns rinsed & returned to Knockrose. This was done daily... Please think about the journey of your food before you get it & be thankful to all involved..
