Better to go too far than not far enough.
Strongman comp this weekend..... I took the last weeks of the prep too hard diet wise and absolutely flopped....the blame alone is on me.
Weight loss had slowed so I dropped food and increased work. If I didn't make weight I wouldn't have competed as simple as that.
97lbs was total weight loss in the end.
I am the only one to blame I had some great help and advice but I took myself lower than I let anyone know.
24hr refeed was absolutely worthless 12000calories In 24hr did even bring my blood sugar up 🤣

As s**t as I felt...it was a valuable lesson. It was a lesson in self control and complete suppression of all urges for food rest and the easy walk into comfort.

It's a painful lesson but f**k it no one died 🤣

It was easy being 300lbs and a strong as an ape...but the real challenge will be staying lean and building them numbers up

I've consumed about 30k of calories since Saturday trying to get myself back to normal and my weight is still super low 🤣

Thanks for all the kind messages.

I will own thks and move forward.

The weight loss have hit the target 105kg ready for comp
9months ago I set the goal
Chats with .harrison.332 and wanting to compete again. So I set my self a pretty steep goal prep for Irelands strongest man natural and drop 42kg..... Its comp week and I slid in right on target.

Healthy at any size is bolox I was unhealthy depressed and my blood work was awful.
Down from ###l oversized to a M
Jeans down from 42inch to 32inch
I feel 100 times better
Weight in Friday then refuel and attack.

Last strongman comp I done I was a wee 95kg will be a fun day...most importantly I am now healthy

Etching the last few Kg off for competition.

In March is was broken exhausted and genuinely not happy in life.

Running a business that was taking every piece of energy I had so I decided. Change my entire work week to suit my own life.

6am lifting and cardio
Restricted diet
Day in day out
I went 110days unbroken.
Rest was as important as finding my self worth
Not the most optimal way but sometimes if you hit something with enough force and pressure you get what you want.

I decided to enter Irelands strongest man drug free under 105kg.....42kg over weight

Today I'm 0.5kg off weight which a week more cardio and a small fast il blast past it.

I feel 100times better
Healthy at any size is bull s**t....if you're more than 15kg overweight it takes its toll if you want to admit it or not.

All my health markers are perfect now and I can even run 🤣

10yrs of self sabotage fixed with 1 singular thought and immesne action.

The goal after comp to get disgustingly lean and diced

From ###l being tight to XL compression wear loose
6stone
38kg
84lbs
Since March 31st
Checked the gym records
315sessions since I started
Daily calorie restriction
Daily cardio (to total 5hrs a week)
Priority was protein and fats and what remained was carbs
At each goal point calories were reduced.
No magic no drugs no carb cycling.

My body was in a bad state and all health markers were off. I had hormonal testing done (as I do 3every months)

Doctor recommended Hormone replacement therapy but I decided to just do it that hard way.
I wasn't very well mentally but my training was very heavy and kept me sane but I had to seek help so I done what I always do just worked day and night on myself.
No secrets no special tricks. Just application of hard work and heavy lifting

The hack is to do hard work repeatedly over a long time and battle your voices and other's who tell you you're doing too much

This is the only appropriate response

Deep Squats for life

Random rant
Calories in vs calories out yes but the quality and most importantly your bodies reaction to certain food can make a huge difference not just to weightloss but also to how you feel and how intense you can train

And yes I have 150gms of cocopops a day and my body loves it

Paul came to me about 18months ago
2yrs no movement loss of strength post stroke and completely locked in his body.
The first clip was about 4 weeks into strength work
He done 10 weeks with me and by then could squat with 15kg and deadlift 55kg....which is huge considering he was told he would never recover.
Today he is back home in South Africa with his family and training multiple times a week
He send me this video of him walking on the treadmill today.......
He lives a much fuller life now all because of strength.
Strength is never a weakness

So I'm back working in Kildare and looking to set up a group class in the evenings for the lads my age who I went to school with
We are getting a little bit older and some of us are getting a bit beat up from work life or inactivity.
Wanting to start a group of 4-5 to get you safely back into things and have a laugh while doing it
Message me if interested or send to anyone interested.
Any fitness level welcome.

Losing 30kg has made me feel a lot better but strength has fallen where it matters most under a barbell.
The machines give me a false sense of security and false sense of strength. 6plates on a hack squat feels heavy build tissue but it doesn't build strength anything close to the barbell
275kg moved easy at big boy weight
210kg moved hard as little Graeme.

The real test is can I build the squat while leaner and smaller and less belly to help get me out of the bottom.

The squat builds my deadlift fast and I need to build it again

Thankfully I like a challenge
