I mean, it’s pretty unlikely you’ll click on an ad that says ‘consistent weight training and a nutritious, balanced diet forever’ 😂 Definitely not sexy or intriguing!

The truth is there are ‘secrets’, no quick fixes and no tricks you’ve been missing out on ⭐️

Maybe you feel like you’ve tried before, plenty of times, and still don’t feel in control. You’re not alone!💗

I’ve been there 🙌🏻 I know what that feels like. I bought LOADS of these ‘miracle cures’ over the years (raspberry ketones anyone?!). I’ve been obsessed and spent all of my time wondering why I couldn’t just get (& keep) the body & lifestyle I wanted.

The cool thing is that even though it’s not very exciting to think of a steady and consistent healthy lifestyle, it’s much easier than the ups and downs that come with short lived ‘fixes’ 💪🏻

It means you can stop obsessing over your body or your lack of ‘success’ when it comes to hitting and maintaining your goals. It’s just how you live and it gives you plenty of headspace to enjoy your life💗

DM’s are always open if you’re struggling to navigate the world of health & fitness.

Protein is a super important part of your diet. No matter if you are losing weight, maintaining weight, building muscle or simply managing your health 💪🏻

WHAT?
Protein is one of three macronutrients that make up food (the other two are fat and carbohydrates).

WHY?
Protein is a powerhouse & the most satisfying macro ⭐️ It makes it easier to manage food cravings, helps to reduce snacking, balances blood sugars, it is the building blocks for your body and you need it to build or maintain muscle (that includes toning your body!). The list goes on.

HOW?
1. Eggs
2. Meat, poultry, fish
3. Protein powder (more on this to come)
4. Greek yoghurt
5. Cottage cheese
6. Tofu
7. Tempeh
8. Milk

Include protein in EVERY meal, I promise it will make a big difference in helping you to hit your goals and also to your overall feeling of well-being.

If you need some help getting started drop me a DM💗

What EXACTLY do you do?

I’ve been asked this a few times so figured now is a good time to clarify before I open my books to new clients again in September.

My online coaching is not ‘virtual training’, it is not exercising together over zoom, it’s not online group classes, it’s not one-size-fits-all generic plans. Nope. It’s way more than that ⭐️

The clients I take on are often at the stage where they have tried everything already; they have joined a gym and not gone, they have dieted with the myriad different diets, they have promised to ‘start on Monday’, they have busy lives and can’t find the time to exercise (or don’t want to), they often see food as a reward or a treat but also feel guilty about food. My clients are usually driven, smart and ready to commit and change but know it’s very difficult to do it without a strategy, accountability and guidance.

My coaching offering is just like having me as an in person 1-2-1 personal trainer & nutrition coach. We cover everything in detail that is specific to you, from exercise to nutrition to mindset to all of the other personal details that only you know about yourself. You can’t rely on motivation alone, you need a strategy, a plan and guidance from someone who knows what they are talking about. 💪🏻

I am a coach. Coaching involves trust. You can trust me to be completely confidential and in your corner no matter what. You can trust that I have likely seen it all before and you don’t need to be embarrassed or fear judgement. You can trust that I will do my upmost to make sure you get to where you want to go. In return, I trust you to be fully open and honest with me so I can support your goals and your lifestyle changes ✨

Coaching is supportive, not authoritative. My role is to coach you to change your habits and your lifestyle for the better while respecting the path it takes for you, as an individual, to get to that point. It’s not a lifestyle bootcamp, it’s a road to where you want to get to, and I guide you along the road while you navigate the ups and downs.

I’ll be taking on a couple of extra clients in September, if you’re interested drop me a DM.

Ohhhhhh yeah baby! C’est moi! 🏍

Learning to ride a motorbike is something I’ve been saying I’ll do for years but never upped my game and actually did it. Until now! 🎉

I love it. It’s exciting, fun, terrifying, exhilarating, and I both love and hate feeling like a complete beginner at anything at this stage of my life.

It’s a privilege to be able to learn anything new and I’m slowly getting over the nerves (I had how scary other traffic is on the road as a learner!). The feeling of not knowing how to do something ‘well’ is humbling too, it’s a good lesson and a bit of a nudge to the ego 😅

Do you have something you want to get started on but somehow haven’t managed it?

Fear, time constraints, not wanting to be a newbie and lots of other things get in our way. I’m telling you, this is your sign. Now is the time 💪🏻

Go team!

Answer: NOPE, not if you don’t want to
(I know, that pretty much makes me the soundest person you’ve spoken to all day 😉)

You can replace ‘running’ for any movement (burpees anyone?!) or any form of exercise and the answer remains the same🎉…that is EXCEPT for resistance (weight) training, unfortunately that’s a non-negotiable for long term success.

We have been told for years that we should be 'running off those extra pounds’ or ‘if you’re not running you’ll never be fit’ etc etc. It’s all BS.

The great thing about our bodies is that most of us will respond well to any type of exercise, and the great thing about our minds is that if we enjoy something we keep doing it. See where I’m going here? 💪🏻

Find something you enjoy, and if you don’t know what that is then try something new. Before I ever lifted a dumbbell I would have assumed I wouldn't enjoy weight training. In my head it was lots of beefy Arnie lookalikes grunting and sweating in front of mirrors but it’s absolutely not.

It’s the most rewarding type of training from both an aesthetic perspective (think toned & strong) and a health perspective (think live longer with less chance of illness).

You don’t need to know anything about it to get started. Start wherever you are - that might be a total beginner (and possibly nervous about the gym), or an old hand that’s out of practice at throwing around iron, or somewhere in the middle. Whichever you are it’s the perfect time to get to it!

If I can help or you need some guidance drop me a DM, I’d love to hear from you.

Answer: Only if you want to!

Shocker, right? 😱

I get asked this question regularly. How many times have we been told we HAVE to eat breakfast, that it’s the most important meal of the day and that if we don’t then we’ll gain weight, have no energy and the the sky might fall in on top of us.

FACTS from your girl who knows:

- Breakfast is optional. If you enjoy it then eat it (I love breakfast and look forward to it every day)!

- Choosing a carbohydrate heavy breakfast WILL result in you having low energy and crashing around lunchtime (think cereal, porridge, toast etc.)

- Eat protein with your breakfast (eggs, greek yoghurt, protein powder, smoked salmon etc.)

- If you are trying to lose weight then it can actually be helpful to skip breakfast and start eating later in the day as it helps to keep your calorie intake lower

- Nothing bad will happen to you if you don’t eat breakfast!

Pop me a DM if you’d like some recipes for breakfast ideas 📝

Just a little reminder and encouragement to keep going ⭐️
If you’ve taken a step back or have fallen off the wagon it’s ok to just get back on there again.
Don’t beat yourself up, you’re only human (I’m assuming 😄).
Don’t put it off, don’t wait until Monday, don’t put yourself second 🥇
Every little counts 💕

Here I am sneaking back online discreetly...in luminous gear! 💁🏼‍♀️
Gratitude💫
Everyone is talking about gratitude with abandon but no-one is telling us how to apply it to normal life, right?
We apparently have to write in journals and take time every day to think of new things we’re grateful for, not to mention meditate on it when we do. 🤯 It's really cool if you’re at that stage, it’s definitely what I’m working towards but, full disclosure, I’m not even close. Well, I have a journal…it’s got two pages written up, but don’t worry gang, I have it there in the wings for when I become that super zen version of myself - hold on tight! 🧘‍♀️
I just wanted to remind you that it’s not all about having to document how you feel or follow a set of rules about how to be grateful. Gratitude is so important that it’s good to feel it at all, it’s way too easy to get caught up in negatives so get on it! 💕
Recently I was reminded just how lucky I am to have amazing people in my life and how life is full of awesome things all day every day. These fab leggings were a gift from one of those wonderful people .bourke1 I’m beyond grateful for that friendship and of course for the fact the leggings are squat proof 🍑
Take a second now to think about one or two things you’re grateful for, then do it again tomorrow and the next day and then the day after that. Before you know it you’ll start to think of those things in the first instance and not the things that you don’t have or the things that are wrong in your life ⭐️
So here’s a big thank you from me for being awesome.
Big love, Jenny x
