Acupuncture is bridging the gap and doing things conventional medicine cant. Great to see the recognition at last. It shatters the notion that you have to believe in acupuncture for it to work

Good research.

"Studies show that acupuncture is more effective than pharmacotherapy and comparable to talking therapy, making it a helpful referral choice."

"Moreover, research has revealed several known biochemical and biophysical mechanisms that may offer an explanation of how this ancient modality works."

Acupuncture is not a cure all or a magic wand. It needs time to work. The reaction builds up like training. A bit at a time to change many months or years of a problem. We live in an instant society. 2 or 3 sessions and people say this doesn't work. It does work but it needs time and repetition . Would you expect to run a marathon after 3 sessions of running, would you expect to walk 20 miles after 3 sessions of walking, would you expect to lose a stone of weight after 3 days of no sweet things? Acupuncture can do wonders for chronic pain but you got to have patience. People wait 2 or 3 months for their next specialist who may say I will monitor you again in 6 weeks. Just think what could be achieved in that time with acupuncture. Chronic pain is one of my specialities. I learned the hard way what works and doesnt and not just from a book. Give it a chance, stop expecting the overnight miracle. All good results have to be worked for. Look at the number of sessions on this article for the different problems, this doesn't mean it takes that long to get any results, just to get lasting results

All acupuncturists are trained in cupping. It is part of traditional Chinese medicine and is used for many different reasons. It is brilliant for muscles that are in spasm and where there is severe muscular pain. I use it after acupuncture and it can be very useful as a deep tissue massage

Cupping has been around since ancient times. When you learn about the 5 ways cupping works to improve your health, you may even try it.

Because of the longterm effects of Covid in some patients there is renewed research that could at long last explain chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. A percentage of Covid patients have symptoms exactly like CF and FM. that is still there 3months after the infection. Chinese medicine has always had what they call " Remaining Pathogenic Factor" It has certain protocols for treatment and may be really usefull for Covid longhaulers. Some of these prescriptions of herbs have been around for thousands of years and are the result of chinese medical information gleaned from treating people during the many pandemics . Information has also been shared by many chinese doctors on formulas that are helping in the hospitals where chinese herbs and western drug therapy are both prescribed.

Some patients could be living with the aftereffects for years to come. Recent research into another persistent, mysterious disease might help us understand how to treat them.
