My eldest is no longer a teen & turned 20yrs old this Christmas day 🥳

A Christmas day water baby, born in front of a christmas tree 🎄& roaring fire, 706pm. A long hard birth but would do it all again in a heartbeat. The most amazing midwife, Kate & doula by my side

Stuffed myself with dinner after & enough brussel sprouts to make up for 3 days birthing her 😂

Two Robin birds flew into my grandmothers house where all the family were gathered less than an hour before she was born. Nobody knew we had already picked her name ♥️

Happy Birthday 🎉
I hope your 20’s is as fun as mine was. Make the most of them.

Love you loads
I’m so proud of you 😘

THURSDAY DECEMBER 11th
ONLINE PREGNANCY YOGA
7:30–8:30pm

Join me for a soft, letting-go feminine flow designed to ease stiffness, melt tension & bring you back into your gorgeous, fluid body.

As an early Christmas gift, you’ll receive the class recording for 14 days, perfect for moving gently through the holidays with flow, release, affirmations & deep relaxation.

In the colder weather (and with all the extra pregnancy fluid + joint pressure!) it’s so normal to feel stiff. Tonight’s session is a juicy, mobility-focused flow to create that “internal lotion” and help you head to bed feeling more comfortable & at ease.

Sleep isn’t guaranteed but gentle movement, breathwork & relaxation can spark the hormones that help you drift off & stay asleep. Many say their best sleep is after class!

I fully encourage PJ’s (only socks with grips!), dim lights, candles or fairy lights, soft music etc. Create your cosy cocoon & let this be your wind-down ritual.

Teaching from my home to yours feels incredibly special. Thanks for booking.

Cost: €8 per class.

Pelvic Floor Deep Dive Tonight!
Nov 27th 730-830pm
Pregnancy Yoga - Online Only

A class dedicated entirely to understanding, connecting & supporting your pelvic floor throughout pregnancy & birth & life!

Dm to get booking details or if you already have them book soon as you don’t want to miss this.

All bookings receive recording for 7 days.

Please have a small ball (or block or cushion/rolled blankets) & a chair nearby or your birth ball.

In this Deep Dive we’ll explore:
- Breath & Pelvic Floor Connection
- Pelvic Floor as Part of Your Core
- Understanding this dynamic, essential part of your deep core system.
- Toning, Lengthening & Relaxing
- Exploring a full range of pelvic floor movement through pregnancy yoga - each one equally important helping to build awareness & connection.
- Pelvic Floor for Birth
- The role these muscles play during labour & how to support them.
- Everyday Practices -simple tools you can weave into life beyond the yoga mat.

Your pelvic floor is a group of muscle layers forming a strong, springy, hammock-shaped support from the p***c bone to the tailbone & from sit bone to sit bone. These muscles also connect deeply into the inner pelvis.

They help to:
🌺 Support pelvic organs
🌺 Stabilise the pelvis & spine
🌺 Assist bladder & bowel control
🌺 Support sexual function
🌺 Play a key role in birth
🌺 Maintain healthy pelvic pressure
🌺 Work with your breath to circulate blood & lymph

During pregnancy, the pelvic floor adapts to the growing weight of your uterus & baby, reaching its maximum stretch as your baby passes through during birth. Understanding this system helps us appreciate the incredible work these muscles do.

Pelvic floor health isn’t just about “doing your squeezes.”
It’s about moving, breathing, minding your stress levels, supporting your whole body & seeking guidance from a women’s health physio.

This Thursday, Nov 20th 730-830pm, we will be using the birth ball. A class that combines Pregnancy Yoga & Pilates so you can learn some really helpful & fun practices on the ball to support you during pregnancy. One of my most popular classes!

I hope this post is helpful for anyone that needs to buy a birth ball. Don’t wait til the end of pregnancy. They’re fab.

Buying a good quality anti-burst ball is important.

I would suggest asking around first as I’m sure your friends or family have one in their attic not being used!

When buying a birth ball you will need to check the size guide. Here is a rough size guide for your height:

55cm ball = 155cm-166cm height

65cm ball = 166cm-178cm height

75cm ball = 178cm-2m height

When sitting on a ball your hips need to be higher than your knees for better mobility, space for you & baby & there’s less constant pressure into your lower back & pelvic floor.

If you sit a lot during the day, try alternate between the chair & birth ball to help relieve pelvic and back pain.

You may need to buy a pump separately.

Some of benefits of using a birth ball during pregnancy and birth are:

🌺Helps maintain good posture during pregnancy
🌺Can help baby find a good position the last few weeks of pregnancy for birth.
🌺General comfort
🌺 Can be a huge relief during the stages of birth to sit on, lean into, during back labour, ease discomfort, promotes staying upright, mobile and uses gravity in a way you can still save energy
🌺 can be used for yoga, Pilates & other forms of exercise during pregnancy and after baby is born
🌺It can be a great prop to bounce on to help soothe a newborn instead of wasting your energy pacing the floor & save your shoulders!

Just a few changes happening at

Due to the ongoing & continually increasing rates with Wix.com, I will be changing the way how to book into my Pregnancy Yoga Online Class, held every Thursday from 7:30–8:30 PM.

While the online booking system was ideal & cost-effective when I was teaching exclusively online during Covid, the monthly fees, along with the percentage taken from every booking, are no longer sustainable for just one weekly class.

Going forward, booking will be simple and direct:
* To book the Thursday Pregnancy Yoga Online Class, please send me a DM or email me at tummylovewithmelissa@gmail.com.

* I will then send you all the booking details. Once you have them, you won’t need to message me each week.

Payment
* Each class is €8, payable via Revolut or bank transfer.
* You are welcome to purchase as many classes in advance as you like and I will send the Zoom link each week before the class begins.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to get in touch.

Thank you so much for your understanding and as always for your continued support. This online class began during the first lockdown in 2020 and is still going strong because of all of you. I am truly, deeply grateful.

I really want to keep this class going as it has served many that can’t get to an in person class & my low cost yoga to support birth 4 part series has helped many prepare for birth when attending a birth prep workshop wasn’t possible.

I don’t have time at the moment to find a more convenient cost effective route but will over the Christmas holidays so for now…..

How to get in touch:
*tummylovewithmelissa@gmail.com

New website address for now:

Phone No:

Thanks
Melissa 🌸

💜ONLINE PREGNANCY YOGA 🩵

Join me for TONIGHTS 730-830pm Online Pregnancy Yoga Class,
Oct 23rd.
This evening is about surrounding you & your baby in a bubble of love!

This special class will help you connect with your body & mind while bonding with your little one♥️

Dim the lights, play some soothing music, light candles, fairy lights to create a space that invites relaxation for you & connection with your baby.

🥰 Studies suggest that bonding with your baby during pregnancy can have positive effects on labour, birth outcomes & overall well-being.

Research in this area is still evolving. Some key findings highlight the benefits:

Oxytocin Release: Bonding, such as talking to your baby & practicing relaxation, promote the release of oxytocin, the “love” hormone. Oxytocin is crucial for labour, as it stimulates uterine contractions & helps with the progression of birth. Bonding with baby can encourage the natural flow of this hormone before & during labour, potentially aiding in smoother contractions & a more efficient labour process.

Reduced Stress & Anxiety: Emotional bonding with the baby has been linked to reduced levels of stress & anxiety in expectant mothers. Lower stress levels can positively impact birth by helping the body to remain relaxed & focused, especially important with the physical demands of childbirth.

Improved Birth Outcomes: Studies have shown that mothers who engage in bonding activities (like talking, playing music, yoga etc) report feeling more confident & empowered during birth. This sense of emotional connection can improve the experience of childbirth, reduce feelings of fear & encourage a more positive mindset going into labour.

Increased Well-being: Bonding activities or simply being present with your baby, can enhance overall maternal health by increasing feelings of attachment & emotional security. Feeling more connected to baby may also lead to a more mindful & calm approach to the challenges of birth regardless how you birth your baby.

Infant Development: Some research suggests that bonding with baby may support healthier brain development in your baby!
