A more in-depth look at our accessibility upgrades to our Resource Centre kitchen thanks to our HSE Capital Grant. ♿️ What do you like most about our access upgrades?

16/12/2025

We’re delighted to share that earlier this year we received a Capital Grant from the HSE, allowing us to upgrade our Resource Centre facilities ✨

The funding has supported important improvements focused on accessibility and comfort for both our team and service users ♿️ These include a fully accessible kitchen and toilet area, a new accessible entrance lock for easier access, and electronic blinds throughout the building.

The kitchen work is now complete and reflects our continued commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming space for everyone 🤝

A big thank you to HSE Technical Services for their support. Let’s start with a look at our brand-new accessible kitchen and its access 🍽️

We’ll be sharing our other upgrades in the next few days so keep an eye out! 👀

Winter is here, and instead of extra support, disabled people have been left facing higher costs and fewer resources.
Budget 2026 removed the Disability Support Grant, leaving many up to €1,400 worse off, with nothing to replace it.

As the cold sets in, people are being pushed to choose between heating and eating. This isn’t acceptable, and we will not wait until 2027 for the Government to act on the real Cost of Disability.

We’re coming together with the IWA, DFI, and Access for All this Tuesday, 9th December to demand an Emergency Winter Payment and the return of targeted energy credits for those most at risk of energy poverty.

📍 Outside Leinster House (Kildare St)
📅 Tuesday, 9 December
⏰ 12:30–2pm

🅿️ Accessible parking (Q-Park on Dawson Street, Setanta Place Car Park, Drury Street Car Park, some on-street accessible bays on Dawson Street and Kildare Street)

🚌 Public transport links (well-served by the Luas Green Line Dawson Street stop and accessible Dublin Bus routes nearby. A short walk from Pearse Station)

Warm clothing recommended.
Stand with us because disabled people deserve support now, not later.

We are delighted to announce the winners of our November 2025 Monthly Prize Draw. 🎉

We hope you enjoy your winnings and thank you so much for your continued support. 💸

Rather than making a once-off contribution, we are asking supporters to join our Monthly Prize Draw by committing a donation of just €7 per month. Regular monthly contributions allow us to plan ahead and ensure long-term sustainability. Most importantly, they enable us to guarantee that we will be there for every person whom needs our support; not just today, but into the future.

If you haven’t signed up yet, enter now for just €7 and we could be calling you next month: Visit https://spinalinjuries.ie/raffle/ or scan the QR code!

Today, on International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we recognise the importance of true inclusivity and deeply value the dedication, experience and commitment they bring every single day.

Together, we continue fostering a more inclusive society for all. ♿

❗Budget 2026 has left many disabled people behind removing €1,400 in once-off supports at a time when people are already struggling with rising winter costs. This is unacceptable.

On Tuesday, 9th December, disabled people, families, and supporters will gather outside the Dáil to demand an Emergency Winter Payment and the return of energy credits.

📢 Join us and make your voice heard.
