Meet Ty — Our Morale Officer in Training! 🐾

If you’ve visited our Home lately, you might have spotted a very important (and very furry) member of our team - Ty, an assistance dog in training from Dogs for the Disabled.

Ty spends a few days each week with us in the Evergreen Care support office, where he takes his job very seriously…
✨ Boosting morale
✨ Demanding pets
✨ Politely requesting treats
✨ And reminding us to smile

He also loves popping down to the sitting rooms to say hello to our residents, who absolutely adore him. In fact, they adore him so much that convincing him to go home with his foster mum afterward is becoming a full-time job… especially when there are sandwich crusts involved! 🥪😂

We’re so grateful to be part of Ty’s training journey. He brings joy, comfort, and a lot of tail wagging to our home. 💚🐶💜

Love was truly in the air today! ❤️
We celebrated Valentine’s Day together — residents, their wonderful partners, and our amazing staff — sharing smiles, laughter, music, and special moments. Days like this remind us that love has no age and community makes every celebration even more meaningful. 💕

Rest peacefully, Sherin. Gone too soon, never forgotten. Our sincere condolences to the family—may you find comfort and strength in the love around you. 🤍

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our colleague, Sherin Abraham.

Sherin was a much-loved member of our team, known for her kindness, dedication, and the care she showed to both her colleagues and the people we support. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of working alongside her.

We also want to recognise the courage and sacrifice shown by so many who leave their home country, families, and communities to work abroad. Building a life and career far from home takes strength and commitment. We honour that journey and the contribution Sherin made, both professionally and personally.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Sherin’s family, friends, and all who are grieving at this very difficult time. We ask our community to continue showing compassion and support to one another.

Last week our home was filled with tradition, memories, and smiles as our residents created many beautiful St Brigid’s crosses.
This meaningful activity encouraged conversation, creativity, and a strong sense of togetherness. We are so proud of their wonderful work and the joy shared throughout the day🤩🤩🤩

🎄❤️ A Christmas to Remember ❤️🎄
Today our home was filled with warmth, laughter and true Christmas magic. Our residents enjoyed a delicious festive lunch, shared smiles and special moments together, and were then surprised by a very special visitor — Santa himself 🎅🎁
Seeing the joy on their faces as they received their presents was truly heart-warming. Moments like these remind us that Christmas is about togetherness, kindness and making beautiful memories.
A day full of love, smiles and festive cheer that we will treasure forever ✨🎄

A heartfelt thank you to Garda Walsh and Garda Semple from the Meath South Community Engagement Unit for arranging such a wonderful visit to Dunboyne Nursing Home. We were truly delighted by the beautiful concert from the talented students and staff of Gaelscoil Thulach na nÓg, and the handmade Christmas cards brought so many smiles to our residents. Your kindness and community spirit made this visit very special — thank you all 🎄✨

✨ Our December So Far – Full of Joy & Festive Spirit ✨

Since 1st December, when we officially switched on our Christmas lights, our home has been filled with magic, laughter, and togetherness. 🎄✨

We continued the festive preparations by finishing the Christmas decorations and creating beautiful handmade Christmas cards, bringing out everyone’s creativity and holiday cheer. 💌🎨

Our Pampering Day was a real treat – the ladies truly enjoyed some well-deserved relaxation, smiles, and special moments of self-care. 💆‍♀️💅

We were also delighted to welcome different choirs, whose wonderful performances filled our home with music, warmth, and Christmas spirit. 🎶❤️

The residents have been absolutely delighted, enjoying every moment, every song, and every smile shared. Thank you to everyone who helped make this season so special. 🌟
