“Slipped disc”? It’s a myth! 🦴 Let’s clear this up…

1️⃣ Discs don’t slip
Your spinal discs are firmly attached between your bones. They cannot “slip out”. What can happen is a bulge or herniation of the disc.

2️⃣ Bulges are common

MRI scans show that many people with disc bulges have no pain at all. It’s a normal part of ageing.

3️⃣ Keep moving

The best treatment is usually to stay active. Resting too much can make things worse, while movement helps discs stay healthy.

4️⃣ Surgery is rare

Most disc problems get better with time, exercise, and treatment—without the need for surgery.
