Not sure what Osteopathy is?
Never heard of it before?
What Happens in a Session:
1. Consultation & Medical History
• Our osteopath asks about your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, posture, and any past injuries.
• We may ask questions that seem unrelated to your main complaint (e.g., digestion, stress, sleep)—because osteopathy takes a whole-body approach.
2. Physical Assessment
• You might be asked to stand, walk, or do simple movements so our osteopath can observe how your body moves.
• They’ll often feel (palpate) your muscles and joints to check for tension, stiffness, or imbalances.
3. Hands-On Treatment
Techniques may include:
• Soft tissue work: Like massage to release tension.
• Joint mobilization: Gentle movements to increase range of motion.
• Manipulation: Quick, firm movements (sometimes with a “click” or “pop”).
• Stretching: To improve flexibility and reduce strain.
• They may also give you advice on posture, exercises, or lifestyle habits.
4. Follow-up
• You might feel sore or tired for a day or two after, similar to a workout.
• Some people need a course of treatments, others benefit from ongoing maintenance.
