The female nervous system isn’t designed to be constant… It's designed to be cyclical.

Yet most women are living in a world that expects consistency, productivity, and output every single day.

This creates disconnection from the body and nervous system.

When you understand your own natural rhythm, everything begins to change. You stop pushing against yourself and start working with your physiology.

This is why female-only spaces are so powerful. They allow the nervous system to settle, restore, and recalibrate.

At all our Journey Retreats, you’ll learn how to work with your nervous system, so your cyclical nature becomes your strength - supporting your energy, clarity, and direction.

Your body holds a rhythm.

The Journey Retreat helps you remember it.

International Women’s Day 🤍

One of the greatest privileges of my work is holding retreat spaces for women - and also recognising how much I receive from them in return.

Each woman arrives with her own energy, her own story, her own presence. Together, something beautiful unfolds. We co-create spaces of connection, honesty, support, and restoration.

There is something incredibly powerful about women gathering - stepping out of the busyness of life and remembering who they are beneath it all.

I’m deeply grateful to every woman who has trusted me, shown up, and been part of these shared experiences.

Struggling With Stillness? Try This Breath work Practice 🌿

We’re told stillness is good for the mind and movement is good for the body.

But what if stillness feels uncomfortable?

If switching off feels hard, you’re not alone. I return to this practice often.

Breath work is the bridge between body and mind.

When the nervous system feels unsettled, stillness can feel uncomfortable. Intentional breathing gently signals safety, regulates stress, and steadies the mind.

From there, stillness becomes nourishing.

Try box breathing:

Inhale 4
Hold 4
Exhale 4
Hold 4

Repeat for a few minutes and notice what shifts.

I’m aiming for 10 minutes a day; starting small and keeping it sustainable.

And if you’re not sure how to sit still… watch your dog. They’ve mastered the art of doing nothing very well! 🐾

Does breath work help you settle?

Sometimes you don’t realise how much you need to pause… until you actually do 🤍

Spending the day at a Journey Retreat with Lucille Cassidy at Studio Be was exactly that, a full reset for a busy mind.

Movement. Stillness. Silence. Fire. The most nourishing food. And a room full of lovely women just taking a breath from real life.

If you’ve been saying “I must book something for myself” - this is your sign ✨

I’ve been learning more about the neuroscience of sleep to improve my own sleep, and one thing that stands out is how much small habits matter….everything I share here comes from a mix of learning and lived experience! 🙂

Busy modern life can easily disrupt sleep, but simple shifts help. One of the most powerful is early morning daylight. It resets your body clock and supports better sleep at night.

Open your blinds when you wake, step outside for a short walk (even 10 minutes helps), or soak up some natural light during your commute. And if you have a dog, those early walks benefit you both!

Sometimes it’s the smallest everyday habits that make the biggest difference to how we rest and restore.

✨ What does your morning light routine look like?
☀️ Could you add a few more minutes of daylight to your day?
🤍 What small habit has helped your sleep recently?
We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

We live in a fast world, and often the body doesn’t get a chance to catch up.

A day retreat is a chance to step out of the pace and create a real pause …. time to slow down, move gently, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself without demands or deadlines.

In that space, the body softens, the mind clears, and energy begins to return.

✨ Gentle movement and rest to release stress
✨ Nervous system reset
✨ Connection with like-minded women
✨ Space to hear your own thoughts again

Sometimes a small, intentional pause can shift more than we expect 🤍

Our thoughts are closely linked to the state of our nervous system.

When we’re stressed or depleted, the brain shifts into survival mode. The part of the brain responsible for clear thinking and perspective becomes less available, and our thoughts can feel urgent, negative, or heavy.

This isn’t a flaw in mindset… it’s biology.

Supporting the nervous system through simple practices like breath, movement, rest, and connection helps bring your rational brain back online. From there, thinking becomes clearer and more balanced.

Noticing your inner story can be a useful cue to pause and ask:
What does my nervous system need right now?

The Origins of the Wild Retreat 🌿

Easter 2024, in Donegal.

It was wet and rainy, yet I felt a strong pull to be in nature.. alone… to simply be! Life felt overwhelming, and I knew I needed to just be in nature..

I walked through the Glenveagh Mountains slowly, stopping to breathe and let nature set the pace. Somewhere along the way, I began to feel better.

That day became the seed of the Wild Retreat… inspired by Donegal, which feels like a second home to me, and the power of nature to help us feel more at home in ourselves.

If you are feeling like power of nature could be great right now, this is your invitation to join us on our next Wild Adventure Retreat.

A bespoke Winter Reset at Studio Be Glenavy🌀

An amazing group of women today…braving the cold pod with calm, zen-like presence. I was totally inspired as always!✨

Strength on the Reformer. Flow in yoga. Cold and sauna to awaken the senses. Breathwork, somatics, and deep rest through yoga nidra to reset and restore the whole system.

It’s incredible how much can unfold in just four hours …so much movement, rest, and space to simply be.

Leaving calmer, clearer, and deeply restored 🤍
