🙏Thank you for your patience while we took some time off. During my break, I went on an adventure to Asia! ✈️
Being in China 🇨🇳, especially a booming city like Chengdu, with its population of over 21 million, can be an incredibly busy, loud, and overstimulating experience. But here, within the walls of the Wenshu Monastery, I found a moment of utter peace🕊
I committed to the quiet ritual of calligraphy for a full hour✒️, fully disengaging from the external buzz. I feel such deep gratitude for this profound stillness, which was a powerful lesson in presence.🙏
Buddhist mindfulness practice teaches us that the noise of the world (and the noise in our heads💭) is always there. Our job isn't to silence the city, but to create a private anchor for ourselves. Much like Chengdu, our everyday lives are bustling, demanding, and overstimulated. This is why creating time to feel grounded and connected to yourself is non-negotiable. It's the only way to navigate the crowd without getting lost in it.
✨️ Tips to Find Your Own Monastery Moment:
💡5-Minutes of Presence: Choose a single, focused activity (like writing, pouring a cup of tea, or folding laundry) and commit to doing it with 100% presence for just five minutes. I
💡Sensory Anchor: When feeling overwhelmed, name five things you can see, hear, smell, touch, and taste. This instantly grounds you in the present moment.
💡Digital Detox Corner: Designate a chair or corner of your home as a "No Phone Zone" where the only focus is quiet reflection or reading. 🧘♀️
