Covid 19 - Coronavirus

In order to safeguard the health of myself, my family and my patients from the transmission of COVID19, I have decided to closed the clinic until 29th of March. Please God if everyone adheres to the HSE guidelines and stays indoors as much as possible, no mass gatherings, the spread of the virus will begin to slow down and we can all get back to normal. I will update here of any changes in circumstances.
Stay safe and look after each other...

Tumeric and black pepper... a wonder remedy. Started taking last month for joint pain and feeling benefits already. Used in India for millennia for assistance with anti inflammatory, antioxidant and variety of health issues. Better taken in capsular form, also check out possible side effects in health stores if taking medication. Thanks mother earth.

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a relatively new treatment that can be applied to infants who’ve experienced head trauma and injuries. It’s often used for infants who underwent a difficult delivery which resulted in birth injuries, but it’s also effective for an array of other common problems that babies may experience, including nursing and feeding problems, colic, teething issues, and more.

Some early morning exercises to help kick start your day.

Regularly stretching of the muscles, tendons, and ligaments that support the spine is an important element of all back exercise programs. Stretches designed to alleviate neck and back pain are likely to be prescribed by a doctor, physical therapist, or spine specialist.

Stretching the soft tissues in the back, neck, and hips can help relieve back pain. This article contains helpful descriptions of common stretches.

Everything you need to know about osteopathy!

Osteopathy is a drug-free, non-invasive manual therapy that aims to improve health across all body systems by manipulating and strengthening the musculoskeletal framework.

An osteopathic physician will focus on the joints, muscles, and spine. Treatment aims to positively affect the body's nervous, circulatory, and lymphatic systems.

Manual medicine means that both diagnosis and treatment are carried out with the hands.

Osteopathy is a complementary therapy. It is used alongside conventional treatment to improve health. However, osteopathic physicians are also qualified as medical doctors (MDs), and they have more training than other complementary therapists, such as naturopaths. They specialise in osteopathy.

Osteopathy uses a drug-free, non-invasive form of manual medicine that focuses on the health of the whole body, not just the injured or affected part.

The osteopathic physician focuses on the joints, muscles, and spine.

Osteopathic intervention can help treat arthritis, back pain, headaches, tennis elbow, digestive issues, and postural problems.

Treatment can also assist with sleep cycles and the nervous, circulatory, and lymphatic symptoms.

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a light touch therapy which has a long history of development through the life and work of AT Still, WG Sutherland and John E Upledeger. A gentle hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the function of the craniosacral system, this physiological system helps protect and assist the delicate tissues of our nervous system; such as the brain, spinal cord and fine nerve fibres. It is comprised of the bones of the head, spine, face and mouth as well as the fascia and more delicate membranes and fluids contained within.

This is a therapy which enhances the body’s own healing abilities. CST in its essence involves gentle manipulations as the therapist both tests for restrictions and “listens” to the quality of the craniosacral rhythm, which the body regulates and maintains in order to feed and nurture our delicate nervous tissues. The forces used are exceedingly light and although the focus is in and around the head and spinal column, the treatment may be applied anywhere on the body.

CST clears restrictions in the fascial tissues of the body. These are the soft tissue layers that are continuous throughout the whole body and envelop every organ, muscle and bone down to the individual cells. As a light, hands-on approach, CST harmonizes with the body's natural hydraulic forces and movements, thus encouraging and enhancing the body's inherent natural healing abilities. This gentle releasing of chronic tensions within the body can effect major changes in both physical and emotional well-being.
