Clarecare Services delivered by Clarecare are based on the philosophy of working in a supportive role with people to assist them with solutions to their problems.

Clarecare offices are based in Ennis, Killaloe, Kilrush, Ennistymon & Shannon. Clarecare provides three core services throughout County Clare - Addiction Treatment, Care of the Older Person (which includes Home Support, Social Clubs and Social Work for Older Person Services) and Family Support Services. Clarecare also operate Thrift Shops at our centres in Ennis and Killaloe with opening hours 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. RCN 20012847

Our four Day Care Centres/ Over 65’s Clubs, based in Ennis, Ennistymon, Killaloe and Kilrush were filled with love and laughter this Valentine’s week! ❤️

Each centre was beautifully decorated for the occasion, with staff and service users dressing up to mark the celebrations. There were wonderful arts and crafts, delicious heart-shaped baking and desserts, plenty of singing and dancing, Spring Liturgy of the Word services, and so much more.

It was truly a joy to see everyone come together to celebrate friendship, community and connection.

A heartfelt thank you to all who took part and helped make the week so special.

✨ What Christmas Means to Our Clients ✨

Recently, we carried out research with clients across our four Day Care Centres in Ennis, Ennistymon, Kilrush and Killaloe, exploring what Christmas means to them. Many spoke about the importance of traditional rituals — and their sadness at seeing some of these customs disappear.

One tradition that came up again and again was lighting a candle at Christmas 🕯️ In Ireland, this simple act carries deep meaning:

• On Christmas Eve, Irish families place a lighted candle in the window to welcome Mary and Joseph, symbolising shelter and kindness as they searched for refuge in Bethlehem.
• Historically, during the Penal Laws, a candle in the window signalled a safe home for Mass — a quiet but powerful gesture of refuge and kindness
• Today, it represents care for all, especially those far from home, reminding us that everyone deserves warmth and compassion at Christmas

A small flame, carrying a powerful message of community, tradition and togetherness ❤️
