Cahercalla Hospice

Cahercalla Hospice Cahercalla Community Care is a private nursing home surrounded by picturesque gardens John of God Sisters.

In a community initiative unmatched elsewhere a local voluntary group was formed in 1995 to acquire the hospital from the St. This was made possible through a tremendous response from the people of County Clare to a huge fundraising campaign. The hospital, consisting of 111 beds, is now managed on behalf of the community by a Voluntary Board of Directors. Nursing home and hospice care is provided to the local community by a highly trained and committed team of over 100 people whose focus is on enhancing the resident’s/patient’s experience while in our care. Cahercalla Community Nursing Home & Hospice is committed to delivering high quality, safe patient care.

Did you know that hospice care is provided free of charge, regardless of the patient’s or their family’s means? Specialist palliative care is holistic care that focuses on relieving pain and other symptoms when you have a serious illness, regardless of age, diagnosis, or stage of illness.

Can you believe Hospice Sunflower Days is celebrating its 32nd Anniversary? Every year we celebrate some of our fantastic ‘Hospice Heroes’ at our annual awards ceremony, but unfortunately due to Covid-19 we were unable to host the much-loved event for the third year in a row. Lions Club of Ennis have again partnered with Cahercalla Hospice for the Annual Christmas Yellow Ribbon Remembrance Tree Project.
Add a Yellow Ribbon to the tree in Market Square to remember absent friends or loved ones either deceased or away from home this Christmas time.
Ribbons only €5 are available from Cahercalla Hospice, or go on line to Cahercalla.ie /Yellow Ribbon or Lions Club of Ennis idonate facility (www.idonate.ie) and add your Ribbon and tribute.
