About me :)
I’m a MSc level Certified Athletic Rehabilitation Therapist and Graduate Sports Rehabilitator (ARTC & GSR). I specialise in evidence-based assessment, treatment and advanced rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions & sports injuries. I have over ten years’ experience working with a wide range of clients with a broad spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions in a variety of multi-disciplinary settings.
I have vast knowledge, skills, and experience in sport and activity related musculoskeletal injury management including: Avenue United FC Junior Team therapist >4 years; Match day and training session cover for senior county camogie and club hurling teams in Clare and Tipperary; and when working with patients in my own private practice. Whilst on placement from college, I gained excellent experience working in sports medicine/ physio/rehab clinics including: Sports Dimensions, London; Anatomiephysio, London; Sports Med West, Galway; and the IT Carlow College Sports Clinic.
My extensive qualifications include a MSc Sport & Exercise Rehabilitation from St Mary’s University, London; and a BSc Human Physiology & Rehabilitation from IT Carlow. I continue to upskill and complete regular formal CPD (continuous professional development) including Trigger Point Dry Needling, Cardiac and Emergency first responder and sports first aid courses, APPI Pilates, Manual handling, GP exercise referral co-ordinator, and Training delivery and evaluation. I also complete weekly self-directed CPD and keep up to date with research through membership of professional bodies and journals.
