Testing Proximal 3C hamstring injury today 4 weeks post injury

If I were to just go off the nordboard would have said symmetry is much improved

But the seated 60 degrees shows that there is still work to do.

If you are thinking fracture and the x-ray is clear go for the MRI or CT to clarify that no fracture is evident.

Don’t risk it until you have clarity, boot it, wait for clarity

Rotator cuff pain initially deload and then reload and gradually reload over time.

Often get the question what can I not do, you have the answers to that😊 What can you do, what capacity has the shoulder and what does it allow you to do at this moment in time.

Generally an activity that is causing a pain that is not manageable >5/10 and is not regressing with the same activity / exercise / movement.

Cortisone injections are not the long term fix to rotator cuff pain.

Cortisone injections compared to PRP injections preformed better in the short term but PRP in the long term.

Cortisone injections can put you at risk of damaging the rotator cuff tendon and possibly rupturing the tendon.

🩻If suspecting a bone stress injury make sure to get an MRI scan to rule out or identify the injury.

🦴How to identify
- Pain on bone palpation ie. Location of pain (Know your Anatomy)
- Pain worse with weight bearing activities
- Pain better with rest
- Adolescents or spike in load

☺️Always great to attend an in person course, as you get to meet great people and meet some familiar faces.

😊Confidence and clarity that what you are doing is effective and simple is ok when it comes to rehabilitation.

🔑That for me was one of the key messages yesterday ,was to keep your exercises very simple but be clear what area of the body, joint, muscle you are trying to strengthen and control.

❓Is the hamstring the victim of other areas of the body, previous injuries in other areas. Not to focus solely on the hamstring.

That was great to hear as with our programming calf and glute muscle strength, reactive force and control are key pillars.

Quad asymmetry

Referred by GP knee buckling given way MRI clear

Tested quad strength obvious quad asymmetry post an 8 week week injury.

Have to be loading muscles after injuries. Get off the massage table, get moving and activating muscles.
