A member messaged me this recently — and my answer was simple:
“Why?”

Somewhere along the way, people have been made to fear pasta…

Weekends can be the trickiest time — different routines, family plans, tiredness, treats, takeaways, nights out… all the things that can pull you off track.

But staying on plan doesn’t have to mean saying no to your weekend.
It just means having a few simple, realistic strategies in your pocket.

✔️ 1. Plan your meals (loosely!)
Not strict rules — just a rough idea of what you’ll eat.
It stops the “ah sure, I’ll grab anything” moment that leads to three days off plan.
✔️ 2. Keep your favourite Free Foods handy
Fruit, eggs, pasta, chicken, salad bits — whatever you reach for when you want something quick.

🍽️ Tonight’s Comfort Bowl: One‑Pot Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta

A proper cosy, satisfying dinner — totally Food Optimising–friendly and so simple.

No faff, no complicated ingredients, just real food that fills you up and keeps you on track.

⭐ Serves 4 — 2 swips per serving (for the Philly‑style light cheese)
Ingredients:

2 large chicken breasts, sliced
1 onion, chopped
2 peppers, sliced
3 cloves garlic, crushed
300g dried pasta
2 tsp Cajun seasoning
400ml chicken stock
150g light cream cheese (Philly light‑style) — 8 swips total
½ tsp smoked paprika
Handful of cherry tomatoes (optional)
Fresh parsley to garnish
Salt & pepper

Method:

Spray a large pan with low‑cal cooking spray and fry the chicken until golden.
Add the onion, peppers and garlic and cook for a few more minutes.
Stir in the Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika.
Add the pasta and chicken stock. Bring to a simmer, cover and cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring now and then.
Stir in the light cream cheese until the sauce becomes lovely and creamy.
Season to taste, add tomatoes if using, and finish with parsley.
