Funeral mass for Maureen Sweeney 13/4/26

The peaceful death has occurred of Maureen Sweeney, Moyra, Falcarragh F92 ER24, in the loving care of her family.
Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Mary Sweeney.
Maureen will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Tracy, son-in-law Michael, grandsons Jack and Ryan, sisters Ann, Patsy, Eileen and Monica, brothers Shaun, Brendan and Noel, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at her home today Saturday 11th April from 4pm and tomorrow Sunday 12th from 10am
Rosary both nights at 9pm. Family time after the rosary and on the morning of the funeral.
Requiem mass on Monday 13th April at 12pm in St Finian's Church Falcarragh followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

We the family of the late Bridgin Scanlon wish to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported us during our recent bereavement.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Fr. John Boyce, Fr. Michael Carney, Fr. Seán Ó Gallachóir, and Fr. Brian Ó Fearraigh for the beautiful funeral mass and their spiritual support.

Our thanks to our family, friends, and neighbours for their kindness, and especially to all the staff in the businesses in the town of Falcarragh, who were always so good to Bridgin and who brought her great joy throughout her life.

A special word of thanks to those who travelled from near and far, those who brought food to the house andto everyone who sent flowers, Mass cards, and expressions of sympathy.

We wish to thank the medical teams in the FalcarraghMedical centre, Letterkenny General Hospital and the Donegal Hospice for their care and compassion.

Our sincere appreciation goes to the FalcarraghChoir for the beautiful music at the funeral and to the members of CLG Chloich Cheann Fhaola for the guard of honour; it was a tribute she would have been so proud of.

To the committee and staff of Ionad Naomh Fionnan and Mc Claffertys Gortahork for serving food and refreshments after the funeral.

Finally, we thank John Sweeney Funeral Director for his professional and dignified assistance with the funeral arrangements.

To those who helped in any way, please accept this as a token of our sincere gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

We, the family of the late Maura Byrne,wish to express our deepest gratitude to all who sympathised with us on the sad loss of mum. Thank you to all who travelled far & near to attend the wake & funeral. Sent messages, mass cards & phone calls, thank you to mums carers who attended to mum with such kindness & diginity. Thank you to Fr John Boyce, Fr Sean Gallagher, Fr Martin Doohan Fr Brendan Ward and Fr Brian o Fearraigh for mums beautiful funeral mass, thank you to Bridget Sweeney for her beautiful singing. To all our kind neighbours & friends for bringing food over the wake, & to ionad naomh fionnan for refreshments after the funeral, To the chapliancy dept in LUH for their spiritual guidence during mums stay in hospital. A very special word of thanks to Sweeney Funeral Directors for his professional support & guidence over the wake & funeral. The dignified manner in which their duties were carried out were outstanding. It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Maura Byrne of Clonbara, Falcarragh, formerly of Glencar, Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim, who passed away peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital on the 7th February 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her beloved husband John, parents Mark and Kathleen, sisters Patty and Theresa and brother Michael.

She will be deeply missed by her sons Mark (Kate), Conor, Aiden (Bridin), Fionan (Margaret), Plunkett, Cieran and daughters Patricia, Siobhan (Benoit) Regina (Liam) and Anita (John) her 22 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, sisters Ita and Peggy, brothers Patsy and Anthony, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at her home in Clonbara (F92 XF57) on Sunday the 8th February and Monday 9th February from 12pm until after the rosary. Rosary both nights at 9pm.

Arriving to St Fionan's Church, Falcarragh for requiem mass at 1pm on Tuesday 10th February, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. House private on the morning of the funeral please.
