THE "COST" OF SITTING ON YOUR WALLET
In the build up to Christmas if you're heading out shopping remember this simple tip: remove large items such as phones or wallets from your back pocket before sitting down!

As you can see in the graphic, sitting with something in your back pocket puts a lot of strain on your spine and pelvis. The muscles and joints throughout the spine must try to compensate to correct the tilt in the pelvis making it difficult to sit upright. This can cause pain, discomfort and even long term dysfunction such as sciatic nerve irritation if it is a regular occurrence.

If this is a long term habit of yours now might be a good time to try change that!

CELEBRATING 6 MONTHS
Today marks the 6th month anniversary of the opening of Buggy Chiropractic and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the amazing people I have met over the past 6 months. I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it and look forward to many more!

So, how does chiropractic work?

There are many different theories on how chiropractic treatment (especially spinal manipulation) affects the body so here is how I explain it to my patients:
The movement brings the joints in your spine to the end of their range of motion and a small amount of pressure is put through the joint in this position. This bombards your nervous system, sending loads of signals to the area giving some great results such as:
🟢Better range of motion
🟢Reduced muscle tightness
🟢Improved joint movement
🟢Reduced pain levels
🟢Calm the nervous system
🟢 and many more!

**WHO AM I?**

My name is Éimear Buggy, chiropractor and owner of Buggy Chiropractic. I graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2020 (during Covid which was eventful!) During my time in Wales I completed a dissertation studying the possible effects of chiropractic treatment in patients with Parkinson's Disease and have a keen interest in everything to do with the body from the brain to the toes!

I spent two years working in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford before pursuing my dream of opening my own clinic in June 2022. I was born and raised here in Slieverue and love working so close to my local community!
