“We have the money, the power, the medical understanding, the scientific know-how, the love, and the community to produce a kind of human paradise. But we are led by the least among us, the least intelligent, the least noble, the least visionary.” — Terence McKenna

Terence McKenna’s words are a call to action for humanity to awaken to its highest potential. With all the resources, knowledge, and compassion available to us, why are we still failing to create a world that reflects our true capabilities? McKenna’s quote challenges us to question the structures and systems we’ve built, and whether they are truly serving the highest good of all.

The gap between what we have and what we are creating reflects a deeper issue of consciousness. It is not just about resources or technology; it’s about how we apply them. Are we living in alignment with our highest ideals, or are we allowing fear, greed, and disconnection to guide us? McKenna’s quote serves as a reminder that we must shift from a mindset of scarcity to one of abundance, from competition to cooperation, and from separation to unity.

True progress comes not just from knowledge, but from vision—the ability to see beyond the current limitations and imagine a better future. We are all capable of embodying this vision, but it requires stepping into our own power, questioning the status quo, and choosing love over fear. When we choose to see each other as equals, and embrace the nobility and intelligence within all people, we create the conditions for paradise on Earth.

What would it look like if we were led by visionaries, by those who prioritize the welfare of all over personal gain? This is not an impossible dream, but a shift in consciousness that begins with each of us. As McKenna reminds us, we have all the tools we need to create a world of peace, love, and abundance—now, it’s time to step into that reality.

What changes can you make in your life to live in alignment with this vision? How can you help create a more compassionate, visionary world? Share your thoughts below.

When we do not experience love growing up, we suffer. We also blame ourselves, believing that we are somehow flawed, damaged or not good enough. We are like a glass that has the capacity to be full, but instead the glass is almost empty.
We want to be full so we look for love outside of ourselves. We may find other things like attention, attraction, lust or friendship, but the love we are looking for alludes us, and again, we suffer.

Because we do not value ourselves, we give ourselves away, hoping for love. We want to be valued by others, but without valuing ourselves, how can we be valued by others? How can we expect others to treat us well if we do not know how to treat ourselves well? Again, we suffer and are often completely exposed to the absence or lack of love in others, mirrored back to us, causing us even more pain. Why does he/she not treat me better? Why am I not enough for them?
Our softness and vulnerability is exposed, without strength or discernment, without self-worth or self-trust to protect ourselves.

We suffer and we keep suffering, until, on the ground, we find the earth and she is kind. We learn to build again, a new foundation and a stronger sense of self. We give ourselves the time and space to heal. We allow ourselves to feel the pain and grief of it all, without blame, shame or self-loathing. We feel, express and find understanding, acceptance and forgiveness. We built self-trust, discernment, self-care and self-love.

When we give our love back to ourselves and fill our own glass with unconditional love to overflowing, then we can really know love, because then we are love 🧡💜🧡
