No get up & go? You are not alone...You are also not broken — You are just emerging
January often arrives with expectations.
Fresh starts. Motivation. A “new year, new you” energy
But for many people, January feels… heavy.
I’ve spoken to so many clients over the last couple of weeks who feel sluggish, unmotivated, flat, or like they’ve no get-up-and-go at all. And the first thing I want you to know is this:
There is nothing wrong with you.
Often, what we label as tiredness isn’t true exhaustion. It’s stagnant energy.
After the warmth, joy, and connection of Christmas, January can feel quieter and less colourful. The contrast alone can leave us feeling low. Our routines change, the weather is darker, and the excitement we’ve been riding gently fades. When energy isn’t moving — physically or emotionally — it settles.
And when energy settles, we feel heavy.
This doesn’t mean you need to push harder.
It means your body and nervous system are asking for gentle movement and compassion, not discipline.
And this is exactly why I have created the February Self Love challenge inside the S.O.L.E Sanctuary to allow us the space, the time and compassion to find our groove.
January isn’t meant to be a sprint.
It’s a slow awakening. A thawing. A remembering.
So if you’ve been feeling flat, unmotivated, or like you should be “further on” by now, pause. Place a hand on your heart. Take a breath. And remind yourself:
I don’t need fixing. I need gentleness.
Energy returns when it feels safe to do so.
