Therapy doesn’t stop when your session ends, that’s when the healing starts to take root. 🌱

What you do between therapy sessions helps make therapy more effective and keeps your progress growing. Think of it as small therapy homework ideas/ tools that help therapy work in real life.

Here are a few activities between therapy sessions you can try:
✨ Reflect on what stood out from your last session.
🪞 Practice one therapy skill during real conversations.
📱 Save your therapist’s insights as notes on your phone.
🖊️ Journal after tough moments to process emotions.
💭 If you feel stuck, jot down questions for your next appointment.

These therapy homework for adults practices help you reinforce therapy progress at home and use therapy skills between sessions.

Healing isn’t just something that happens in the therapist’s office, it’s something you practice in the messy, beautiful middle of daily life. The more you show up for yourself between sessions, the more therapy becomes part of who you are, not just something you do. 💚

Let’s be real. Saying “sorry” means nothing if their behaviour doesn’t change. 🙃 If they’re only apologising because they got caught, or they drop a “sorry but…” and turn it into a guilt trip, that’s not accountability, that’s classic emotional manipulation.

Real apologies come with action. They’re followed by changed behaviour.

If someone keeps saying “sorry” but nothing shifts, it’s not forgiveness they need, it’s consequences. Protect your peace, raise your standards, and remember: you’re not asking for too much by wanting genuine accountability. 💛

Ever set a boundary and immediately felt like the villain? 😅 Most of us! That gut-punch of guilt after setting boundaries is way more common than you think. You’re not being “too much”, you’re just unlearning years of people pleasing and rewriting what healthy boundaries in relationships actually look like.

Saying “no” isn’t rude, it’s self-respect. 🚫 Protecting your peace isn’t selfish, it’s necessary. And feeling guilty? That’s just your old conditioning trying to talk you out of protecting your energy.

If you’re wondering how to stop feeling guilty or how to say no without guilt, this is your sign. Your boundaries don’t need anyone’s approval, they just need to exist. 💅✨

Depression doesn’t always look like sadness, especially in men. Too often, it hides behind a busy schedule, irritability, or quiet withdrawal. It’s not always tears or staying in bed. Sometimes it’s working longer hours to avoid feelings, snapping at loved ones, or feeling completely numb while pretending everything’s fine.

Globally, more than 280 million people live with depression (WHO). In Ireland, around 1 in 8 men will experience it in their lifetime, yet men remain 3.5 times more likely to die by su***de (CSO, 2023). That difference isn’t about strength, it’s about silence. Too many men have been taught to hide pain instead of heal it.

But depression is not a weakness. It’s a human experience and with the right support, healing is possible. Every day, men find their way back to connection, meaning, and peace.

If you recognize yourself in these words — or see someone you love in them — please know you are not alone. Reaching out is not giving up it’s choosing to keep going. 💙

Today, we pause to remind ourselves that mental health is not a luxury but it’s a fundamental part of being human.

In Ireland, 1 in 4 adults will experience a mental health difficulty in their lifetime. Anxiety, depression, burnout, loss, trauma — these aren’t abstract issues. They’re woven into the lives of our friends, partners, colleagues, and communities.

And yet, even now, too many people struggle to access support or feel safe enough to ask for help. Stigma still whispers that we should “get on with it.” Services are overstretched. Conversations about mental health often end before they truly begin.

But World Mental Health Day is not just about awareness, it’s about action.
It’s about building workplaces that protect psychological safety, schools that teach emotional literacy, and communities that listen without judgment.
It’s about recognizing that wellbeing isn’t something we “fit in” after work it’s the foundation that helps us live, love, and cope.

At Peace Inside, we see every day how change begins in small, human ways: one open conversation, one counselling session, one person realizing they don’t have to carry it all alone.

💚 Today, and every day, let’s make space for honesty, empathy, and care for ourselves and for one another.

Because every mind matters, and every story deserves to be heard.

✨ Save this post as your reminder that your mental health deserves attention, not apology.

📢 Share it to keep the conversation going, Ireland.

Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do isn’t to push harder, it’s to quietly walk away. 🚶♀️🍁

Walk away from the conversations that drain you, the friendships that don’t grow with you, the guilt that overstays its welcome.

Because peace isn’t found by adding more, it’s created by releasing what no longer fits. 🌿

This season, choose softness over struggle.

You deserve space to rest, reflect, and rebuild, without explaining why. 💙

✨ Save this as a gentle reminder: not every door that closes deserves a knock.

💬 Tell me — what’s one thing you’re walking away from this season (even if it’s just overthinking on Sundays)?

Have you ever caught yourself wondering, “What’s the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?” 💭

Many people who reach out to us at Peace Inside share that exact question. Both counselling and psychotherapy offer a space for healing, reflection, and growth, yet they can differ in focus, depth, and duration.

🪞 Counselling often supports you through specific challenges such as stress, anxiety, grief, or relationship issues, helping you find practical coping strategies and a clearer sense of direction.

🌱 Psychotherapy, on the other hand, tends to explore more deeply. It looks at long-term patterns, emotional roots, and the way past experiences may be shaping how you feel or relate today.

Neither approach is “better” than the other, it’s about what feels right for you.

Sometimes people start with counselling and later move into psychotherapy, or blend both depending on their needs.

If you’re thinking about starting therapy, know this: taking that first step is already an act of courage and self-care. 💙

You deserve a space where your thoughts are heard, your emotions make sense, and your story is met with empathy, not judgment.

☝️ Take a look at the post above for a simple overview that may help you decide which path feels most aligned with where you are right now.

It’s smart, funny, and full of real talk about boundaries, relationships, and all the messy parts of mental health.

🎧 Episode 1 is out today — listen now on Spotify, Apple, or YouTube. (link in stories and bio ).

We’ve been keeping a little secret… 🤫

We’ve been working on something special behind the scenes with our extended Peace Inside family — and it’s finally time to share it.

🎙 No Clients Were Harmed is a podcast by two therapists (yes, our very own Eoin + Rachel!) diving into the messy, funny, very human side of mental health. It is a podcast that takes you inside and outside the therapy room.

Each episode explores different themes like relationships, personal growth, and the twists and turns of everyday life. Through open reflections, real experiences, blending humor with a touch of sass, they aim to make therapy more relatable and less intimidating.

If you’re curious about how therapy connects to everyday struggles and small victories, this show is for you.

🚀Episode 1 drops October 2nd. Here’s the teaser!

🎙Hosts: Eoin O'Sullivan & Rachel Gilmore

Somewhere along the way, you stopped hearing yourself.

Maybe it was the noise of expectations. Maybe it was trauma. Maybe you were always the “easy one,” the “strong one,” the “quiet one.” And now? You're just trying to figure out what you actually think, feel, and want. 🫤

Therapy isn’t just for “when things are bad.” It’s a space where you slowly tune back into you. Your voice, your truth, your needs — all of which might have been muted for years. 🎧

And no, you’re not dramatic or “too much” for needing help. You’re just human. And honestly? That’s more than enough. 🧡

Therapy gives you a safe space to unpack the noise and find clarity. Not someone else’s voice — yours. The one that’s been whispering “there’s more than this” for a while now.

Feeling curious or seen? Maybe it’s time to make space for you.

If no one has told you this recently, let me:

✨ It’s OK to not be OK.
✨ It’s OK to disassociate.
✨ It’s OK to need help.
✨ It’s OK to rest and pause.
✨ A mental health struggle does not mean you’ve failed.

You are still whole. Still worthy. Still lovable.

Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is admit you’re struggling, and choose to keep going anyway. 💛

Healing isn't linear. It's messy, colourful, quiet, loud, frustrating, and freeing.

Tag someone who needs this reminder today. 🌈
