Working parents are fully aware of the cost of childcare, to help reduce this cost you can apply for a subsidy to help meet childcare costs for children up to the age of 15

You apply for the subsidy that is best suited for your family situation.

There are two types of subsidies available

You can apply manually or by an automatic method.

When applying for the subsidy and if you choose to use the income assessed option, some of your income will not be taken into account, these are called allowable deductions, your reckonable income is reduced by the amount of the allowable deductions, which in my opinion are quite good.

Once you apply the decision on what you will be awarded per child is very quick.

By 6 months most babies will achieve these milestones:

💛Will be able to sit with support. They may prop themselves on their hands.

💛Be able to move things from 1 hand to the other.

💛Your baby will make babbling sounds such as “baba” and “gagaga”.

💛Your baby will show a preference for a particular person.

💛Your baby may: get upset when they cannot see their main caregiver
recognise familiar faces smile more often - especially at their parents or main caregiver

💛Try to hold their bottle while drinking

💛Your baby will look to the floor when they drop a toy.

Did you know a newborn’s head accounts for 1/4 of his body length while the adult human skull is about 1/7 of the total body length.

And babies’ eyes? They are already 75% of the size of their adult eyes. 🤯

By month 5 most babies will achieve these milestones:

✨ Your baby will roll their body from back to front. They’ll lift their head when sitting.

✨ They’ll move objects from 1 hand to the other.

✨ Communication and hearing

✨ Your baby will smile and make vocal sounds when they see themselves in a mirror, mimic a person’s voice by making vocal sounds, make ‘raspberry’ (spitting) sounds

✨ Your baby will smile spontaneously.

✨ Your baby can reach out and grasp a dangling object. They'll start to look at small objects with interest.

Getting ready for baby?

Come and visit us in our nursery fitted out with all the products you would need during the first 3 months with a newborn and beyond. We will help to make the transition to being a parent as easy as can be.

Meet our baby Millie we will demonstrate how to bathe her, how to change her nappy, how to hold and feed her and you can practice for yourself in a calm and cosy environment.

Taking care of yourself isn't a luxury, it's an essential part of being a good parent. Remember to take time out and do something that makes you feel good, read, go for a walk or a run, meet a friend for a coffee, or just sit outside in nature … it’s okay to take a break!
