Who says they can’t run?
For me running is a passion, a bit of an obsession. I am usually just back from a run or going for a run. I used to run for weight loss in my twenties. Now I run for stress relief, freedom, strength, confidence, energy, fitness and happiness.
I really wanted to get other people to enjoy running as much as I do. So I started a 6 week running group. My plan was to get 10 people to commit to three times a week running. We started out on the first day running one minute, walking one minute and we did this 10 times. To see the transformation of the group was amazing. Although there was tears and sweat, everyone kept the commitment and now six weeks later this group of amazing women are running 5km. We had many laughs too. We can all run. We were born to run. We just need to break it down and start off slowly.
We are capable of so much more than what we think. We need to change our mindset about what we can and can’t do. If we can overcome the mental block we have about running, the physical block will fall away. Just imagine all the other blocks in life we can overcome. So let’s just start. Let’s just run and I promise you, you will be not only able to run but you will learn to love it.
