Family Resource Centre National Forum

Family Resource Centre National Forum The Family Resource Centre National Forum (FRCNF) is the national representative and peer support body for Ireland’s 121 Family Resource Centres (FRCs).

The Family Resource Centre (FRC) programme is Ireland’s largest National Family and Community-based support programme, core funded by Tusla – The Child and Family Agency. Established in 1998 and incorporated as a company limited by guarantee in 2004, we work collectively with FRCs to deliver the FRC National Programme – the country’s largest community-based family support initiative. The Programme is made up of 121 FRCs based in communities across Ireland. Each Centre is independent, led by a voluntary Board of Directors, and works to meet the unique needs of its local area. Both the FRC National Programme – the network of 121 Centres – and the FRCNF are core funded by Tusla – the Child and Family Agency. FRCs are organised into nine regional forums: Cork, Kerry, Eastern, Mid-West, Midlands, North-East, North-West, South-East, and Western. These forums meet regularly to share experiences, address common challenges, arrange training, and develop joint projects. Each regional forum nominates representatives to the National Forum’s Board of Directors, ensuring a strong link between local Centres and the national body. This structure allows us to work together effectively, share knowledge, and influence positive change in communities across Ireland.

💥 What Works for Communities: Launch! 🚀
Huge news today! We officially launched the "What Works for Communities" evaluation report (funded by the DCDE What Works Fund).

We hosted 75 FRC Managers in Tullamore to present the findings on the vital prevention and early intervention work FRCs deliver using a community development approach.

Sending our appreciation to the team at S3 Solutions who completed the evaluation. Crucially, we agreed on key recommendations to be actioned into 2026!

A massive thanks to the FRC managers and their teams for their continued passion hard work and dedication to their communities! Together we can make long-lasting positive social change ❤️

Great news! We sincerely thank Norma Foley - TD and Department of Children, Disability and Equality for announcing the uplift in Family Resource Centre (FRC) Core Funding, raising the minimum level to €180,000 in 2026. This is a vital investment for our frontline services. While the allocation is short of the full funding request in our pre-budget submission, we strongly welcome this positive step toward greater stability for FRCs nationwide.
