Family have been hugged, gifts have been exchanged, food and drink have been consumed, rest has been taken, stocktake has been done and the new year has been rung in. That means it's almost time for me to turn the alarm clock back on and open up the shop. Wishing you all a peaceful and joyful 2026 and hoping for some light shining in the world. We're open until half past two today for any last minute things you might need. After that we're closed until next Friday, 2nd Jan. If you're feeling a little under pressure or just find Christmas a hard time of year, there are teas, tinctures and supplements which can help by supporting and calming the nervous system. Some, like ashwaganda and siberian ginseng, are what are known as adaptogens which means that they help the body adapt to stresses by allowing the body to access energy stores when needed but also allowing it to rest as required. As always, if you are taking other medications, please check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking supplements 🤗

These delicious Ottolenghi cookies are perfect for this time of year. They are delicious, seasonal and make perfect gifts too! Even better, we stock all the ingredients bar the butter (though if you use dairy free spread, we've got you there too) and the orange for zesting. The dough is a little hard to manage as it feels quite dry and difficult to work, and they're a bit if a fiddle, but trust the fabulous chef that he is and they WILL work, I promise and it will all be worth it! I first tasted these at and begged Jean Michel to tell me his secrets 😂. The recipe is here 👇 if you're on FB and at the top of the page for Insta viewers. Usually I halve the sugar in most recipes but these aren't too sweet, maybe due to the wholewheat flour. In any case, I reduced only by about a quarter and they're lovely! Now to try and keep some for Christmas 🎄 😅

Whoops! I thought I had posted our Christmas opening hours when I put up signs in the shop. Here they are , in store, you can pick up a small paper reminder to stick on the fridge. We'll be closed for a full week again so make sure to stock up before we close at 2.30 on Christmas Eve (it will be prompt as I've to go and collect family from the bus). We have no further deliveries until Jan 7th but we're super stocked with loads of delicious foods and gift ideas 🎄✨️🎄
