Dr. William Shaw, PhD, is an American chemist, autism researcher and the founder and director of the Great Plains Laboratory, based in Lenexa, Kansas.
William Shaw, is board certified in the fields of clinical chemistry and toxicology by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry. Before he founded The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc.,
Dr. Shaw worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Children’s Mercy Hospital, University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine, and Smith Kline Laboratories. He is the author of Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD, originally published in 1998 and Autism: Beyond the Basics, published in 2009. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences worldwide.

Finally, an administration has the courage and backed up by medical research to ask the difficult question – Why has the incidence of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) risen from 1 in 20,000 children 15 years ago to 1 in 31 children today.
They are finally looking for answers not to hurt families but to help them to understand how to look at the biomedical end of things to help each child achieve their true potential.
We have been looking at this piece with families for many years now and referring to our biomedical colleagues to help each child with ASD to achieve their true potential.

Where did the summer go!?
I hope everyone is keeping well and the kids are settling well into the school routine again.
