Dr. William Shaw, PhD, is an American chemist, autism researcher and the founder and director of the Great Plains Laboratory, based in Lenexa, Kansas.

William Shaw, is board certified in the fields of clinical chemistry and toxicology by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry. Before he founded The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc.,

Dr. Shaw worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Children’s Mercy Hospital, University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine, and Smith Kline Laboratories. He is the author of Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD, originally published in 1998 and Autism: Beyond the Basics, published in 2009. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences worldwide.

They are finally looking for answers not to hurt families but to help them to understand how to look at the biomedical end of things to help each child achieve their true potential.

Where did the summer go!?
I hope everyone is keeping well and the kids are settling well into the school routine again.

Meet Karen O'Connor

Karen has over 20 years experience working with children with complex communication needs. She would like to share her extensive knowledge and unique approach combining speech & language therapy approaches with up-to-the-minute sensory integrative and sound therapy techniques so that your child can achieve their greatest potential over the shortest period of time.

Karen O’Connor, Consultant Speech & Language Therapist, has developed the Pieces of the Jigsaw© programme for parents to use at home. You’ll hear from parents who went through the programme with Karen in the video to the left. They discuss the challenges they and their children faced before they found the Pieces of the Jigsaw©, and the changes that soon followed.

Opening Your Mind© is the name of the four series’ produced and presented by Karen O’Connor. They are available to buy from Vimeo. Each series has a different focus:
