We were delighted to have Niall McNamee in Glanmire Community College yesterday evening. Niall told us his incredibly difficult and insightful story about how easily he got sucked into gambling. He also told us about the impact on his family & friends, and how his time in a residential centre for addiction helped him come through to the other side. We could have listened to him all evening. After he answered many questions, Niall headed back home to Offaly and wished us well in our Healthy Clubs journey.

🎶 Calling All Local Musicians! 🎶

Riverstown FC is putting together a community music album to help raise funds for our new pitches and facilities at Brooklodge — and we’re looking for talented local artists to get involved!

Whether you’re a solo performer, band, songwriter, Choir or producer, we’d love to hear from you. This is a great opportunity to:
🎤 Showcase your music to a wider audience
🎧 Collaborate with fellow local musicians
💛🖤 Support a great community cause — improving sports facilities for our many local kids and families

The finished album will be released and sold on Bandcamp, with full credit given to all contributing artists.
All proceeds will go directly towards the development of Riverstown FC’s new pitches, lighting and dressing rooms at Brooklodge.

If you’re interested in taking part or learning more, please get in touch.
Contact Anthony: ant.riverstown@gmail.com or at 0879574420

Let’s bring the community together through music and football!

Join us for an important evening of hope and healing!

Carrigtwohill Family Resource Centre invites you to our safeTALK su***de prevention training on Monday, November 10th, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 10 PM in the childcare building (T45 FW61).

safeTALK is alertness training that prepares attendees, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a su***de-alert helper. Most people with thoughts of su***de don’t truly want to die, but are struggling with the pain in their lives. Through their words and actions, they invite help to stay alive. With this training, you may be able to provide that help.

This is a fantastic opportunity for our Community to come together to educate ourselves on dealing with people who may have thoughts of su***de.

Huge Well done to the Carrigtwohill Family Resource Centre and Staff for organise this free support. Thank you all !

Our Minor Premiers secured their semi final slot when they defeated St Finbarrs 3-13 to 0-7 in Togher this afternoon. A late first half goal by Cliodhna Tierney ensured we had a crucial three point lead turning into the second half - 1-6 to 0-6.
With our defence well on top, Jane O'Brien unerring from placed balls & Aoife Treacy & Aoife Hanley's late goals, the victory was rubber stamped.
Well done girls & management - it's Sliabh Rua next weekend! Sars Abú 💙🤍🖤

An important reminder to check your breasts on the last day of Breast Cancer Awareness month

An important reminder to check your breasts on the last day of Breast Cancer Awareness month

Happy Halloween! Send this to a friend to remind them. 🎃🎃

Today also marks the end of Breast Cancer Awareness month, so this is a gentle reminder to take a minute today to check your breasts.

A lump in the breast is the most common symptom of breast cancer, but there are others to look for:

• thickening of the skin or tissue of the breast

• dimpling of the skin of the breast

• a lump or swelling in either armpit

• a change in the shape or size of the breast, such as swelling in all or part of the breast

• a ni**le turning in (inverted ni**le)

• an eczema-like rash on the ni**le

• discharge or bleeding from the ni**le

• pain or discomfort in the breast that does not go away – but this is rare.

We understand that showing any symptoms of what could be cancer is worrying. The most important thing is to speak to your GP as soon as possible
