. Brain Awareness Week 2026

The 16th to the 22nd of March is . Just as you can look after other areas of your health e.g. physical health, you can also take steps to keep your brain healthy โ€“ this can reduce the risk of getting dementia or slow down its progress.

Proactive steps people can take include:

* Being physically active
* Eating a healthy balanced diet
* Quitting smoking
* Reducing or giving up alcohol
* Managing blood pressure
* Looking after your hearing and vision
* Making time for social connection and interaction.

Adopting these habits in adulthood can play an important part in
reducing risk, as well as developing good routines for life.

We hope all ladies in our great community had a lovely This yearโ€™s theme is โ€œGive To Gainโ€. This theme underscores the principle that meaningful progress on gender equality requires deliberate contributions from governments, institutions and individuals. When we invest in women's safety, rights and leadership, we strengthen societies as a whole.

Today, Glanmire Football Club is proud to celebrate the incredible women who play such an important role in our club, our sport, and our parish ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š

You might be:

๐ŸŸก The super fan cheering from the sideline
๐ŸŸข A valued member of our executive committee
๐ŸŸก A mum making the journey to training (and probably washing the muddy gear!)
๐ŸŸข A local business owner supporting the club through sponsorship
๐ŸŸก A physio helping a player get back doing what they love
๐ŸŸข A coach inspiring the next generation in our juvenile programme

Whether you fill one role, many roles, or simply show up and support โ€” you are part of what makes this club special.

Your time, passion, skills and heart help ensure that our tradition, culture and sport continue to thrive and remain a place where everyone can belong.

Today, we say thank you to all the amazing women who are part of the Glanmire Football Club community.
