Our 2nd duty of today is with our colleagues and friends from Irish Red Cross - Enniscorthy at the p2p.ie The Irish Point to Point Island Race at Peppards Castle.

The 1st duty of a busy weekend for us in Gorey is providing First Aid cover for the Presidential Election count in Kilanerin Community Centre - KCC to see who will be the next resident of Áras an Uachtaráin.

Enniscorthy and Gorey Red Cross Units got to thank some members for some long dedication to the Irish Red Cross: Fiona Lane was awarded for 20 years, David O Connor for 29 years Ray Lacey and Catriona Whelan for 30 years, Caroline Kavanagh for 32 years, Paddy Redmond for 35 years, Breda Coughlan Roche for 39 years, John Kavanagh and Sally Flynn were both awarded for an amazing 40 years service each.
Awards were also presented to members from both units who put in a huge amount of time and effort during the Covid 19 Pandemic and for National Services day.

Today Irish Red Cross - Enniscorthy and Irish Red Cross - Gorey spent the day in the classroom, this training was followed by various short term and some very long term Service Awards and many members were also awarded Covid and National Services Day - Ireland medals. Some highlights were Caroline Kavanagh with 32 years service, Paddy Redmond with 35 years service, John Kavanagh with 40 years service and Sally Flynn with 41 Years service, a massive achievement for each of them.
