Officially Accredited Play and Creative Arts Therapist 💕
I’m delighted to share that I am now an Accredited Play and Creative Arts Therapist with PTIrl, following my qualification last May.
Accreditation is a step beyond becoming qualified. It is professional recognition that I meet the standards set out by PTIrl (Play Therapy Ireland), aligned with PTUK’s ethical, clinical and safeguarding framework.
To become accredited, I needed to complete:
✨ A minimum of 250 post-qualifying clinical hours (I’m well beyond this)
✨ Regular clinical supervision with an approved supervisor
✨ Demonstrated competency across PTIrl/PTUK standards
✨ Adherence to strict regulations, safeguarding rules & ethical guidelines
My annual membership also requires:
🌿 Ongoing CPD to make sure my practice stays current, safe and evidence-based
🌿 Continued clinical supervision, which supports reflective, high quality therapeutic work.
Whilst I reached my clinical hours a while ago, I just recently got around to submitting the application and this accreditation reflects the steady, meaningful work I’ve been doing since qualifying.
I am also a proud member of IPTCA (Irish Play Therapy Community Association), a community of trained play therapists in Ireland who advocate for professional standards, ethical practice, and child-centred therapeutic support. Being part of IPTCA means I’m connected to a network that prioritises competence, integrity, and the protection of the profession as a whole.
In a profession where I work in private practice and practice solo, it’s essential to stay connected, accountable and supported. Accreditation, membership and supervision ensure that I am never truly working alone,I am part of a wider professional network that upholds safety, ethics and best practice for every child I meet.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey, especially the l children who make this work so meaningful ❤️
