"Sauna is the new pub".
For years, we’ve been saying it.

Throughout the years we have made intricit comparisons in how people use the space of a traditional pub and how we use the sauna. We also know that not every sauna session needs conversation (like the pub).

That's why we have two unique types in our Blackrock and Rathmines locations.

🔥 The Pub Sauna - lively, chatty, full of conversation. Like meeting friends for a pint and a laugh.

🤫 The Cíunas Sauna - quiet, calm, restorative. Like stepping into a peaceful corner of the pub to just sit and reflect.

Some days call for chatter, other days for stillness. The sauna welcomes both.

Today we celebrate the power of rest, connection, and taking time for yourself. Here’s to the women who show up, lift others and still make space to breathe.

Sauna vs. Cold 🔥🧊

There’s something about the contrast, isn’t there?

The heat makes you sweat. Your shoulders drop. You finally take the breath you didn’t realise you were holding.

Then the cold wakes you up. A sharp inhale. A steadying of the mind. A quiet “I’ve got this.”

Neither one is better. It just depends on what you need that day. It depends on you.

Sometimes you'll need to sink into the warmth and let it hold you. Other days you’ll be craving the cold shock, ready to clear the head and feel alive in your skin.

It’s not about pushing yourself. It’s about listening.

Fire. Water. A few good breaths in between.

That’s the rhythm.

Your ritual. Your pace.

Rest vs. Recovery 🌅

Rest and Recovery aren’t the same thing.

Recovery is the body at work: adapting, repairing, rebuilding.

Rest is the mind letting go: softening, surrendering, slowing down.

You can lie still and not recover.
You can push hard and never truly rest.

But when mind and body meet… that’s where the magic happens.

Heat. Breath. Stillness. Presence.

That’s the space we hold. 🔥

What’s really going on here ? 🔥

The heat, the sweat, the tiny awkward moments… all part of the magic. Everyone’s been there before and the beauty is … we’re all here to help each other out in showing and sharing how we do this 💆🏼💆🏼‍♀️

Step in slowly, breathe deeply, and let your body do the work. Stillness is enough. You are enough. 🧡💙

Löyly

Understanding it changes everything.

It’s not just steam. It’s not just water on the rocks. It’s the rhythm of heat and air, the wave that wraps around you, slows your mind, and lets your body reset.

When you lean into it, sauna becomes more than a moment... it becomes habitual, a process of letting go and returning to yourself.

This is where presence meets recovery. Where stillness becomes intentional. Where your moments of pause become clarity 🧡💙

Personal Notes

Steve:

The idea of this service came from the combination of my use of a sauna from a sports recovery purpose and my love of swimming in the Irish sea.
