Hello July,

The day I was dreading has arrived. Our clinic in Kylemore road in Dublin is now closed. Many, many thanks to my friends who helped me with the move. Mariete, Leonel, Pasquale, Bianca, Brian, I could not have done this without you. 🙏🏽

I will be closing Wexford clinic this month too and this is definitely breaking my heart. 💔
Most of you know how much I love Wexford and the beautiful Coach House that was my Wexford Clinic. It is now transformed into a lovely antique furniture and vintage items for home interiors and gardens. Do check them out here https://rosedecorativeinteriors.ie/ and pop in for a visit when you are down in Wexford town. Wishing Carol the best of luck with her new venture! 🎉
It is never easy to leave a place where we created so many nice memories, but life is like this and brings us unexpected events that forces us to change our path. The uncertainty is nerve-wrecking but no matter what, I will adapt. Stay tuned as we will be back with exciting news soon.

In the meantime, classes will resume next week. If you have attended our classes up until the end of April, you will receive an email from us. If you are a new client, please note that I will not be able to see you for at least two more months for hands-on physio but if you are interested in attending the online classes, I will be launching a Posture Workshop very soon. If you have emailed us, you will also receive a reply within the next two weeks.
I ask you for a little bit of extra patience as I go through the process of closing two clinics!

Have a great July!

Missing you all! ❤️

Who has the best Physio-Pilates’ clients in the world?
ME! (I am shouting out loud, as I write ME).
Yes, I know how lucky and blessed I am to have you as my patient and for that I am truly grateful.

I know I treat you, teach you, I mind you and then once I believe you don’t need me anymore, I try my best to “force” you to leave me... I ask, I beg, I give out to you, but despite my efforts, most of you are still here with me after all these years! The truth is, now that we stopped for almost three weeks, I miss you terribly (as I know I would). I miss our interaction during our classes (even if it’s on ZOOM) and our Physio sessions. What would be of us, Physiofit Woman without you? I am lucky to have you! 🥰

This is one of the reasons, I make these little videos. To remember our journey of learning, sharing and empowering us all while still having fun!

Missing you all! 💖

Hello May!

This will come as unexpected for some of you (as it was for me) but Physiofit Woman will take a break at least for a couple of months. It is not a “goodbye” but instead “I will see you soon”.

This pandemic was incredibly challenging for us and made me realise that there is more to life than just “killing” myself working to pay overheads and bills. My physical health is struggling and mentally I am beyond exhausted.

Change is coming, I can feel the butterflies in my stomach and although it can be uncomfortable not knowing what to expect it can also be exciting.
Face the fear and do it anyway with the hopes that this change will improve your life – this is how I am thinking now. We are reaching, what I hope is, the end of this pandemic and despite all the financial and emotional struggles big or small businesses faced, I look back to life before Covid-19 and I do not wish to go back to my “normal” pre-pandemic life of endless working hours, stress, and worries.

I want a better lifestyle and life-work balance. I want to take control of my health and life, and I want to spend time with my nephews, family, and close friends. At the end of the day this is what matters the most.

I feel that Physiofit Woman will emerge from this hiatus stronger and healthier as a business which will reflect my new lease of life too.

But I need time and breathing space to put my business ideas into practice, and I will do this while taking care of my health.

I would like to THANK YOU ALL, my dear clients, for your amazing and unconditional support and care in particular over the last year but also during the 13 years that we are in business. I hope I made a difference in your health and general well-being with my physiotherapy and classes. I will miss our one-to-one sessions and our ZOOM classes. Remember, I would not be here if it were not for YOU! ❤

Geraldine and Paul my landlords and Carol and Timmy from Wexford are also key people that made this pandemic less harsh. I will be forever grateful for your kindness during these difficult times. ❤

To my amazing friends (you know who you are), what would I do without you? Thank you for being present and taking care of me. I am truly blessed to have you in my life. ❤

I will be in touch but in the meantime, emails, calls and messages will be paused until further notice. Keep me in your prayers and thoughts so I can come back stronger than ever!

I will miss you all and, in the meantime, stay safe and well.

Hello April

April’s fool day! One year ago if someone told you that you would be living a pandemic and the world would stop because of a virus 🦠 you would have thought it was a joke!! Yet one year later, here we are, enduring our 3rd lockdown.

There is hope in the horizon with the vaccination plan in place and the restrictions being lifted slowly but surely.

It’s one year that I started teaching online and I know that the Zoom classes are here to stay for a while longer. I love having you all in my Zoom classes but I do miss our interaction in the studio. Mother and Baby Pilates is not the same as we don’t have the social part of playing with babies and just having a group chat. Sometimes we would even go out for coffee, remember? The good old days! I do miss them as I’m sure you do too! 💖

The change for the Summer time will hopefully bring us some hope and joy (weather permitting) allowing us to enjoy the outdoors ...fingers crossed 🤞🏽 that we can have some group exercise allowed during the summer. Would you be up for it?

Let’s wait and see and in the meanwhile stay safe.

Happy International Women’s Day 💖

From my beloved family who raised me shaped me into the woman I am today, (you see my grandmother, my aunt and my mum on the first 2 pictures) to my beautiful friends who I chose to be my family. (Missing the pictures of a lot of you from both Portugal and Ireland but you know who you are😉).
And my amazing Physiofit Woman ladies who make me be a better person and a better therapist every day.

You are all kind, strong, powerful and beautiful women. You inspire me every day!
Thank you for being part of my life! 💖

Hello March!

I’m finding hard to believe that this month marks one year from the start of the pandemic 😷

On Friday 14th March 2020 Ireland entered its first lockdown. Part of the initial restrictions were lifted in May but some businesses only saw the end of it by August 2020. Some never even reopened! 😔

We didn’t know what hit us and we didn’t see it coming. For sure we were not expecting that we would still be in a lockdown (our third) after one year! But here we are.

I came back to Ireland after celebrating my mum's 70th birthday in Portugal on the 12th of March 2020. It was a great week, spent with family and friends and dancing every single night as if there were no virus 🦠. I did not want to go to Portugal, I told my mum but she was not having it. I even developed a rash on my face from the stress of having to travel home. But I topped up my vitamins and essential oils and off I went and it was fantastic. It was also the last time I saw my mum and the rest of my family. Thank God for technology! 💻

When I came back I worked one day and then lockdown started. My body collapsed and I was in and out of bed exhausted for almost two months. Blood test revealed that I’m fine! 😳 All I know is that I could not function properly and although I’m feeling better, I’m still not 100%. Could this be post-viral fatigue (from whatever I got in December 2019?). I had my flights cancelled 5 times last year and these were not for holidays but for medical appointments.

One thing is for sure, this pandemic changed our lives. It prevented us from living our dreams and hopes for at least one year. It prevented us from family, friends and affections. It forced us to live the imposed changes on us and re-evaluate our priorities in life in general. Our resilience has been tested to the maximum and it will continue for at least another month (if not for the rest of 2021).

And although we will have to celebrate events like Mother’s Day in a different way, the end is in sight. Hopefully by the end of this month the numbers of COVID-19 cases will have decreased significantly and more people will have acquired some sort of immunity. Here’s to HOPE and to have a bit of normality back in our lives soon. 💖
