Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition Transform Your Health Today! I use my NLP training to work with a client holistically, taking stress, lifestyle and emotional health into account.

After healing my own "incurable" Chronic Pain & Fibromyalgia through nutrition, I changed career to study nutrition properly and qualified in 2010. Since then, I have helped hundreds of clients with various ailments such as eczema, sinusitis, asthma, IBS, psoriasis, weight issues, fibromyalgia, pain, food cravings, heartburn, reflux, confidence issues and more.

As a single Mum of two young children and a business owner, I suffer with awful anxiety at times wondering how I'm going to juggle everything. Since studying NLP and even before that, I am always looking for ways to support my brain and mental health. I recently saw something that I wanted to share with you as it's totally blown my mind....

Firstly, take a quiet moment and take a deep breath. Exhale and say "I wonder what my next thought will be?"

Suddenly my mind hushed. The racing thoughts of all I need to do stopped and my mind went into limbo. I wonder what my next thought will be was all I could think of. So today when the panic of school runs, homework, housework, clients and work kicks in, I'm going to ask my brain "I wonder what my next thought will be" to hush it!

Try it and let me know how it worked for you

6 weeks ago, after lots of positive & casual chats about neurodiversity, I told my daughter Abigail she was autistic.

I thought my heart was going to burst when she said "I know Mummy"! and I ended up getting so upset that she ended up comforting me! 🙈

To say I'm proud of this little girl is an understatement! How she is dealing with her diagnosis and whole heartedly accepted it as a superpower and ability is incredible 💖

So today for Rainbow Inclusion Day in school, she designed and created this t-shirt, spelling out her name and proudly telling the world THIS IS ME!

B. Beautiful
I. Intelligent

I cannot emphasis enough the importance of checking labels on everything you consume. These are the ingredient lists for the same nutrient - Selenium. What a massive difference ! The first is a Holland & Barrett supplement, the second is one a nutritionist recommends! Massive difference! Do you really want a supplement with more bulking agent than anything else?

Yesterday I attended the Menopause Success Summit packed with over 200 women and a heap of experts all discussing the taboo symptoms us amazing women go through as we transition into our new beginning. We discussed the 52, yes 52 different symptoms we can experience during perimenopause and how best to treat them through nutrition, exercise, lifestyle changes and for some, HRT. I've never felt so empowered in a conference ever and am so excited to better support my clients 💖 So if you think you're going crazy or just don't feel like yourself anymore, reach out and I'll gladly help 🙏

Today is World Menopause Day and what a lot of people don't realise is perimenopause (the precursor to menopause) can start between 35 & 45 and is often where the real suffering starts!

The sudden crippling anxiety, the intense rage, the brain fog that leaves you forgetting your words in the middle of a sentence, a sudden decline in wanting s*x due to lack of libido or pain, the overwhelm that replaces rationally thinking, the feelings of worthlessness and sadly, the thoughts of su***de.

One day you feel like you can take over the world, the next day you want to leave the world as our hormones swing faster than we can keep up.

Some women sail through the menopause, while others literally struggle as we try to juggle raising a family, building a career, or looking after elderly parents while our bodies go through major changes.

Nutrition can always help and is a great place to start. Getting adequate rest and sleep is essential and reducing stress and increasing our exercise is something we should all be aiming to do.

HRT is a necessity for 25% of women who are unable to see enough of a difference through lifestyle alone. There are numerous supplements that can aid our journey, such as Magnesium Glycinate, Ashwagandha, Sage and many more. As always, be careful where you buy your supplements as “buy one get one free” offers often offer little to no real change as ingredients are cheap and hard to absorb.

There are 2.5 million women is Ireland and it’s time we start talking about the real side effects of these changes! Reach out to your friends, share your weird symptoms, compare stories and find out what works. Don’t be dismissed by your workplace, partner, friends or GP and told to just get on with it or take an antidepressant.

You’re not depressed, you’re not cracked, your body is transitioning into what the Japanese consider a natural life stage of renewal – Konenki.

The next time you see a child 'misbehaving' or hear a child screaming please stop and think 'could that child have special needs or sensory issues?'.

Please spare a thought for the child who struggles to stay calm and regulated and for the parents who are constantly stared at, judged, criticised & exhausted.

A little knowledge & kindness can go a long way 💖

Happy Single Parent's Day to all parents out there who are parenting alone.

It's without a doubt the hardest job in the world but still, bizarrely doesn't receive the recognition or respect it deserves.

So big love to anyone struggling, sailing through it or just about managing, we're amazing 💖

Morning all. As most people are aware, today is the first day of lent and a lot of us grew up being told to give up something we love for the next 40 days. Now we are adults, why not give back instead.
Give love. Give kindness. Give support. 💖
Below is a list of 40 easy acts of kindness. Why not print them out and see just how many you can achieve in the next 40 days 🥰
