First Aid First Hello all, we are a Transition Year class in St.Ciarans C.S in Kells Co.Meath and our aim is to get first aid taught to all first years in Ireland. Meath.

On Monday morning the first aid first team were back in action .4 members of last year's team traveled to Dublin for the launch of Adams gift CPR awareness week. The minister of education and founder of Adams gift Kerry McAndrews were present at the launch .

On Monday evening members of the staff from St ciarans community were trained in CPR awareness and in the use of a defibrillator by the order of Malta Kells branch. Also tomorrow first year students will be trained In CPR awareness to highlight Adams gift CPR awareness week further.
Minister Bruton commended us on our hard work throughout last year and from it our goal was achieved as CPR Awareness is an option under the well being section of the new junior certificate cirriculum nationwide.

A huge thank you to Gemma Lynch and Donal Mc Cabe and all the other members from the order of Malta for all their hard work throughout this year the project would of never of gotten this far with out them and for that would thank them enough. Yesterday we had special guest Michael lyster from the Sunday game in to speak to us. In July 2015 Michael suffered from a sudden cardiac arrest,His wife Ann knew basic chest compression and was able to keep him alive until the ambulance arrived.we would like to thank Michael and other guests such as Betty McLaughlin and Wayne Forde for attending our presentation. It was a great day for all involved

A big thanks to John Fitzgerald from the Community First Responders who came into today to talk to the team about their organisation and what they do it was a fun and informative talk enjoyed by all.

Yesterday, CFR Ireland met an inspiring group of students from Transition Year at St. Ciarรกn's Community School in Kells, Co. Meath.

They have been promoting their a CPR awareness programe during the past number of months. Many thanks to Gemma Lynch - Order of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Kells - Officer in charge - and their teacher Deirdre Smyth for inviting us.

The first aid first team had a very successful week. Our goal was finally achieved. The team put together a presentation for head of the new well being section in the new junior cycle Betty Mclaughlin. We were overwhelmed when Betty informed us that she would put our course under the well being section so that it would be compulsory for first year students to learn basic CPR as part of there school curriculum nationwide.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Gemma Lynch and Donal McCabe for all their hard work and dedication to Our project and all the other members of the order of malta who put the time and effort into our parents night in the school , coming to Lmfm with us and various meetings in the school.

We would like to thank county councilors Wayne Forde ,Sean drew, TD Thomas Byrne and of course Betty McLaughlin for working with us to accomplish our goal! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

A big thank you to local councillor Sean Drew for coming in and talking to our team today. Luke and Rory fully briefed Sean on the project and he loved the idea and wants to help us push it forward he gave us some good contacts and great ideas on promoting our project and getting it out there it was a great end to ysi week. Thanks to Donal Mc Cabe and Michael Guerin for coming in and helping out too ๐Ÿ’™
