Understanding Narcissism in Clinical Practice requires more than social media soundbites.
Working with narcissistic relational dynamics can be complex and clinically challenging. This in-depth educational workshop explores the realities behind the terminology, offering therapists a grounded, trauma-informed framework for understanding these patterns and supporting clients impacted by them.
Together we will explore:
• The difference between narcissistic traits and Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)
• Coercive relational dynamics and patterns of psychological control
• Trauma bonding and why clients struggle to leave harmful relationships
• The gradual erosion of identity and self-trust in narcissistic relationships
• Therapeutic considerations when working with clients affected by these dynamics
Participants will leave with greater clarity in recognising narcissistic relational patterns and increased confidence supporting clients navigating these complex experiences.
This workshop moves beyond popularised narratives to provide clinically grounded insight, relational understanding, and practical perspectives for therapeutic work.
Designed for counsellors, psychotherapists, student counsellors, and professionals in psychology and social care.
