Before time slips away on me I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and I would like to thank everyone who has visited us in 2025. Big thanks to my A Team - Aisling, Gosia & Colette, Bridget & Lisa for all their hard work .

It’s been a while since I posted on - it’s been a busy few months.

In September the team of Kilcullen Opticians joined me in their first trip to Silmo Paris, the optical tradeshow of the year, safe to say we enjoyed the 2 days there, non stop walking, talking, spectacle try ons and eating! We all came back full of energy and enthusiasm and looking forward to our orders arriving.

In October I was a guest of in Lisbon, one of our lens suplliers. They hosted an amazing conference for 2 days and treated us to tour of the city with a few stops along the way to savour some Portuguese delicacies with amazing views and incredible practice owners from Ireland and the UK. Some I have met before at events and some I met for the first time. But we all had a blast. So grateful to And to top it off I got a few extra days to explore Lisbon with 2 friends from college - long overdue

I attended a 2 day workshop in the west on Visual Perception and Processing and we were joined by optometrist members of the British Association of Behavioural Optometrists (BABO soon to be ANBO Association of Neurodevelopmental & Behavioural Optometrists ) for the 2 days. This event was a great success. (No photographic evidence!!)

And now I am in London on my last conference of the year - run by NORA the neuro-optometric rehabilitation association in the USA - 1. about the role of vision therapy in mild traumatic brain injury and post concussion syndrome and 2. About Visual Snow Syndrome and the role of neuro optometric rehabilitation in its management.
So so so interesting, a lot of new information to digest and consider how it fits in with my practice .
