โœจ๏ธ A beautiful end to our term โœจ๏ธ

This week in our 4 Creative Mindfulness classes, we explored the magic of kind self-talk through the story ~ The Reflection in Me ๐Ÿชž๐Ÿฅฐ

Together, we chatted about the importance of speaking kindly to ourselves ๐Ÿ’› We practised looking into a mirror and imagining the loving, encouraging words our reflection might say back to us ๐Ÿชž๐Ÿฅฐ

The children then created their own decorative mirrors using reflective card, heart stickers, and powerful little affirmation stickers like:

โœจ๏ธ You've got this
โœจ๏ธ Believe in yourself
โœจ๏ธ You are enough
โœจ๏ธ Be kind to your mind
โœจ๏ธ Love, love, love yourself

It was such a touching moment watching each child look at themselves, smile, and notice their sparkling eyes and wonderful smile. These small but powerful moments of self-awareness and self-compassion are what mindfulness is about ๐Ÿฅฐ

We ended each class with our much loved dice game ๐ŸŽฒ adding a new little twist of sharing something kind about ourselves when it landed on our colour. There was so much laughter and joy in the room โค๏ธ

It has been incredible to witness how much the children have grown in their mindfulness, confidence, and self-compassion over these last 6 - 8 weeks. It was such a special way to end the term โœจ๏ธ

Wishing everyone a lovely, peaceful Easter break ๐Ÿฃโค๏ธโœจ๏ธ๐Ÿชž๐Ÿฅฐ

๐ŸŒฑ Thursday's Creative Mindfulness class theme was Growing Gratitude ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’› based on Creative Mindfulness Kids Training

We began with a beautiful sharing game - passing around a big heart-shaped cushion, giving it a hug, and finishing the sentence "I'm grateful for..." โค๏ธ It was so special to hear the children express gratitude for both the big and little things in their lives. Their thoughtful, heartfelt responses truly filled the room โœจ๏ธ

We spoke about how showing gratitude can shine a light on the other wonderful things in our lives - the more we notice, the more we find to be grateful for ๐Ÿฅฐ

We then got creative, making our own Growing Gratitude Trees ๐ŸŒณ with each leaf representing something we are thankful for. Watching their trees bloom with kindness, love, and appreciation was simply magical ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ‚

To finish, I shared how deeply grateful I am for each and every one of them. They bring so much joy into our time together โœจ๏ธ

๐ŸŒช Last week in our new Thursday Creative Mindfulness Class, we explored something we all experience ... WORRY! ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ

We talked about how worry can feel in our bodies, the different things we might worry about, and how sometimes worry can hold us back from trying new things. Together, we discovered that not all worries are the same ~ some can actually be helpful ( like reminding us to wear a helmet when cycling ๐Ÿšฒ ) while others can become "spinning worries" ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ that grow and stop us from doing the things we enjoy.

To help with those spinning worries, we practised some breathing techniques ๐ŸŒฌ and created our own beautiful spinning disc using some card and string. Watching the colourful patterns whirl and spin gave us a chance to slow down, focus, and feel more present ๐ŸŒˆโœจ๏ธ

We also read Ruby's Worry ๐Ÿ“– which shared an important reminder that one of the best things we can do when we feel worried is to talk about it with someone we trust ๐Ÿ’›

It was a really fun and creative class ๐ŸŒช๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ๐ŸŒฌ๐ŸŒˆโœจ๏ธ based on the creative mindfulness method by Louise Shanagher at Creative Mindfulness Kids Training

Last week, I also had the honour of being invited by CRY Ireland to work alongside an incredible team to support a family navigating the loss of a child and sibling ๐Ÿ’™

I facilitated a Creative Mindfulness session, gently creating a calm and welcoming environment where feelings could be expressed in their own time and way. Through soft listening practice with musical instruments ๐ŸŽถ and creative art ๐ŸŽจ we explored ways to sit with emotions and allow them to be seen and felt โœจ๏ธ

It was deeply moving to witness people coming together with such compassion, offering presence, understanding, and a place of rest ๐Ÿซถ

It was such a reminder that even in the heaviest moments, there can be space for tenderness, connection, and creativity โค๏ธ

โœจ๏ธ I Am Courage โœจ๏ธ

Last week in our Creative Mindfulness Classes, we explored the beautiful theme of courage, inspired by I Am Courage by Susan Verde ๐Ÿ’›

We talked about what courage really means - not just the big, brave moments, but the small, everyday steps that help us grow stronger. The moments when our mind says "I can't " and we gently remind ourselves, "Yes, I can." ๐Ÿ™Œ

Through creativity, the children brought this idea to life, building their own courage art piece by piece. Using colourful tissue paper, they created stunning canvas art, each layer a reminder that courage grows over time, one small brave step at a time ๐ŸŒˆ

So proud of each and every one of these incredible children and the courage they are already carrying within them โค๏ธ

No better way to end the class than with a joyful group declaration of ~ โœจ๏ธ "I AM COURAGE!"โœจ๏ธ

09/03/2026

Last week, in our Creative Mindfulness Classes, we explored the beautiful theme "I Am Human" inspired by the wonderful book I Am Human: A Book of Empathy by Susan Verde โค๏ธ

After reading the story together, we talked about what it means to be human. We shared how every one of us is learning and growing every day. Sometimes we make mistakes. Sometimes we get hurt or hurt others. But we can say sorry, we can learn, and we can choose compassion โค๏ธ

Each child held a little red crystal heart in the palm of their hand. They looked closely and noticed the light, the reflections, and the way it sparkled โœจ๏ธ Then they gently closed their hands. Even though they could no longer see the heart, they knew it was still there โค๏ธ

Just like our real hearts โค๏ธ We can't see each other's hearts, but we know they are there โค๏ธ

And because of that, we can choose kindness.
We can treat ourselves and others with care.
We can remember that every person we meet has feelings, hopes, and a heart that deserves kindness โค๏ธ

We then decorated large jigsaw pieces ๐Ÿงฉ each decorated in our own unique designs. Celebrating how unique we all are, while also reminding us that although we are all different, we are also all connected โค๏ธ

A little reminder from our class:

โœจ๏ธ We are human
โœจ๏ธ We are learning
โœจ๏ธ We are growing
โœจ๏ธ We can make mistakes and say sorry
โœจ๏ธ We can choose compassion

A small heart in our hands ... but a big reminder in our hearts โค๏ธ

My heart was so full after each of the classes โค๏ธ
When we remember that everyone has a heart, the world becomes a kinder place ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿงฉโœจ๏ธโค๏ธ

This week in our New Thursday Creative Mindfulness Class, we explored the wonderful book ~ The Colour Monster ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿฉถ๐Ÿฉท

We talked about those moments when we feel all mixed up and confused with our emotions and how important it is to notice, name, and gently untangle what's going on inside ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ

The story reminds us that when we bring awareness to our feelings, we can also invite in more calm, clarity, and kindness into our lives ๐Ÿฉท

The children created their own cardboard "feelings jars" just like in the book to give each emotion its own space and colour ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿฉถ๐Ÿฉท

It was a wonderful creative session full of curiosity, sharing, and learning ๐Ÿ˜Š

I love that the children were so proud of their beautiful artwork โœจ๏ธ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐ŸŽˆThis week in our Creative Mindfulness Classes, we explored the beautiful book ~ When Things Aren't Going Right, Go Left! โ†ฉ๏ธ

We followed the journey of a little boy in the story as he set his worries, fears, and frustrations down ๐Ÿ’ผ ๐Ÿ“ฆ๐ŸงณOnly later to discover something powerful, when he was ready to pick them back up, they were smaller, quieter, and much more manageable ๐Ÿ™Œ He learned that it was okay to have them with him, so long as he kept an eye on them and that if they became too loud or overwhelming, he could set them down again ๐Ÿ’ผ๐Ÿ“ฆ๐Ÿงณ

The children then had fun creating a hot air balloon using a paper plate, cup, and straws๐ŸŽˆWe talked about how the hot air balloon rises higher when it lets go of its sandbags. We imagined our worries, fears, and frustrations as sandbags weighing us down๐ŸŽˆ and then we practised 'letting go' so we could rise higher ๐Ÿ™Œ

We finished with a breathing practice, moving our balloons up and down as we noticed our breathing ๐ŸŒฌ

๐ŸŽˆBreathing in ... rising up ๐ŸŽˆ
๐ŸŽˆBreathing out ... gently floating down ๐ŸŽˆ

It was such a simple, playful way to help children discover that feelings come and go and that we don't have to carry them with us or be weighed down by them ๐Ÿ’ผ๐Ÿ“ฆ๐Ÿงณ We can choose to let them go ๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿ™Œ

โœจ๏ธ I received an exciting new delivery of doTERRA essential oils along with the sweetest little mini diffuser this week ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™‚๏ธ

Our sense of smell is directly connected to the parts of the brain that support memory, emotion, and calm ๐Ÿง

When the children walk into class and notice the gentle aroma in the room, it helps them pauseโ€ฆ breatheโ€ฆ and signals a time to reflect, create, and simply be ๐Ÿค—

Smell is one of the fastest ways to anchor us in mindfulness. A single breath can ~

๐ŸŒฟ Help regulate big feelings
๐ŸŒฟ Support focus and concentration
๐ŸŒฟ Create a sense of safety and comfort

I love how the children notice when I use a new scent and how parents want to stay in the room it smells so nice ๐Ÿ’œ

Does your mind ever feel like it's so busy jumping from thought to thought, just like a monkey swinging from tree to tree ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒณ

Last week marked the start of our new 6 week Creative Mindfulness Term ๐Ÿค—

I introduced the children to the idea of the "busy monkey mind " ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’

The children loved bringing this idea to life by making their own little monkeys, attaching them with string to two paper straw trees, and sliding them from one side to the other ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒณ A simple craft but such a powerful visual reminder to take home ๐Ÿค—

We talked about how our monkey mind isn't "bad" and that we're not trying to stop our mind from thinking ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿค” but when we need it to be still and calm we can gently give it a job to do like ~ noticing our breathing ๐ŸŒฌ or listening to sounds around us ๐ŸŽถ all helping us to be in the here and now ๐Ÿค—

It was a fun class and really special to introduce mindfulness to so many new children. I look forward to seeing how their practice grows over the next few weeks โค๏ธ

I didn't manage to take even one photo during the class ๐Ÿ™ˆ we were having that much fun ๐Ÿ˜„

โค๏ธ With Valentine's Day this week, in our Creative Mindfulness Classes, we spoke about showing kindness โค๏ธ

During our discussion, we began talking about times when it could feel hard to be kind. One by one, several children bravely shared moments when others had not been kind to them and how upsetting that felt ๐Ÿฅบ

What followed was a truly tender and beautiful conversation. The other children responded with empathy, care, and understanding. It was powerful to see them listen to one another and offer comfort so naturally โค๏ธ

We also talked about how, when people are unkind, it often has very little to do with us and much more to do with what they may be going through. Together, we practised sending kind wishes ~ firstly to ourselves ๐Ÿซถ then to our families ๐Ÿซ‚ our community โค๏ธ our country ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช and finally to the whole world ๐ŸŒŽ It was magical โœจ๏ธ

During the class, the children created a heart bouquet as a symbol of spreading kindness to others ๐Ÿ’ At the end of our time together, we used bubbles ๐Ÿซง as a joyful and playful way to send kind wishes out into the world ๐ŸŒฌ๐Ÿซง๐ŸŒŽโค๏ธ Each bubble representing small acts of kindness that together can make a big difference โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿฉถ

It was a very special week and one I will remember for a long time ๐Ÿฅฐ Kindness truly is a superpower ~ It makes us strong ๐Ÿ™Œ
