‘DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland’ is coming to KILDARE!!!!
Baz & our team will be in Painstown/Donadea area in Kildare bringing the community together in support of The Connolly Family.
Ramona Connolly and her five-year-old son, Oran, had their lives turned upside down when Daragh - husband and father - died suddenly and unexpectedly in December 2025. Just 45 years old, Daragh was rushed to hospital with severe stomach pain and underwent emergency surgery. Despite the best efforts of doctors, he passed away less than 48 hours later.
As they struggle to come to terms with the devastating loss of Daragh, Ramona and Oran are focused on building a stable and secure future. In the space of a single day, their hopes, plans, and future as a family were shattered.
At the time of Daragh’s death, the family were in the middle of building their forever home, that Daragh poured his heart and soul into. The roof and windows had only just been installed, but without the possibility of a mortgage, without life insurance, and with little to no other financial resources, the build cannot be completed.
With the help of DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland, alongside the family, friends, and colleagues who loved and respected Daragh, we can complete the Connolly family home and give Ramona and Oran a safe, secure home to rebuild their lives.
Together, we can ensure that Daragh’s hard work and dreams are not lost and help make the future a little brighter for Ramona & Oran!
Our DIY SOS Kildare (Donadea area) build will take place from Tuesday 19th May - Thursday 28th of May.

We are looking for....
Ground workers, Ticketed Machine Drivers, Carpenters, General Labourers, Plumbers, Electricians, Slabbers, Blocklayers, Painters, Plasterers, Joiners, Pavers, Landscapers, Fencers, Tilers, Audiovisual companies, Catering, Cleaning and Registration Volunteers - you name the trade, we need you there!
We also need local companies who can assist us by supplying goods and materials for external works: Grab hire, plants, turf, plants and other landscaping products.
For Catering: An army marches on its stomach and we need to feed our volunteers! We are looking for catering companies or local restaurants and cafés to provide breakfast rolls, lunch, dinners and snacks to fuel our 100+ hardworking troops.
For Interiors: We need Joinery companies, Glazing, Furniture, Wallpaper, Extensive homewares, Beds, Mattress supplier, Bedding, Mirrors, Curtains and Blinds.
For Site Support: We need Storage facilities, Van drivers, transport companies, marquees, and accommodation.
