Progress update at C-TAC:
Following on from our recent work developing our Learning Management System with our IT partners https://fusionweb.ie, we’ve now reached another major milestone.

Our final FAR Blended learning scripts are complete, fully written, fact-checked and quality assured in line with the NEW 2026 First Aid Response Education and Training Standards and the FAR Clinical Practice Guidelines – 2026 Edition.

This has been a detailed and focused process to ensure our learners receive accurate, engaging, and high-quality content throughout their blended learning journey.

Next step: working closely with our IT partners to bring these scripts to life within our LMS.

We’re getting closer to delivering flexible, modern, PHECC-aligned training that meets the demands of modern learning.

We continue our TAQA visits this week, catching up with one of our regular faculty members.
We could have travelled 10 minutes down the road and visited a more convenient course. But Quality Assurance isn’t about taking the easy option. It’s about ensuring our faculty maintain our standards and protect the C-TAC brand and reputation wherever training happens.
This week’s visit started with a one-hour site induction just to gain access to the industrial facility. A great reminder that strong Quality Assurance often happens behind the scenes, requiring time, flexibility, and a real commitment to doing things right.

A Busy Start to the Week at C-TAC
We’re hard at work with our IT partners https://fusionweb.ie, designing and developing our Learning Management System (LMS) to support our application to deliver First Aid Response by Blended Learning.
This project began almost a year ago, following the approval of the new Blended Learning Guidance and Application Form. Our team is carefully aligning our blended course to the NEW 2026 First Aid Response Education and Training Standards, ensuring learners consistently get the highest-quality training, online or in-person.
As part of our practical development:
•We’ve been experimenting with filming content using a drone while practicing the new Ten Second Triage skills.
•We’ve also upskilled on the use of CPR feedback technology, ensuring our learners get the most effective, hands-on practice.

Exciting times ahead as we prepare to offer flexible, PHECC-aligned training that meets the demands of modern learning.

We are proud to invest in high-quality training equipment to ensure our learners receive the very best experience.

This week we took delivery of some of Prestan’s newest products, four PRO+ Adult Series 2000 Manikins.

We have been closely watching the 2000 range in anticipation of the launch of their PRO+ compatible lung system and it was well worth the wait. The integration of the PRO+ system with the 2000 series brings enhanced realism, improved feedback, and an even higher standard of CPR training for our learners.

At C-TAC quality training starts with quality equipment.

We’re back on the road today continuing our TAQA process, carrying out IQA monitoring of our instructors.

The purpose of IQA monitoring is to provide an opportunity to review our faculty both as instructors and as assessors, ensuring consistency, compliance and quality across all programmes.

During monitoring we:

• Ensure that official C-TAC presentations and materials are being used.
• Take a “snapshot in time” by reviewing paperwork as it stands on the day, including attendance sheets, OSCE documentation, examination papers and learner feedback forms.
• Speak directly with learners using structured questions to evaluate the quality and standard of delivery.

This process is not about fault-finding, it is about maintaining standards, supporting our instructors, and continually improving.

Most importantly, it provides confidence to our learners that their programme is regulated, monitored, and delivered to the highest standard.

Quality assurance isn’t optional it’s integral.
