Hello everyone 😊

After an extended period of time away raising my daughter and studying Kinesiology I am delighted to announce that I have opened my own little clinic in Sallins, Kildare and am now taking new clients.

As well as Integrated Energy Therapy, I now offer sessions of Applied Physiology. What's that you say?! I hear you. Read on for a brief overview of this powerful healing therapy and how it could help you.

What is the system of Applied Physiology?

β€’ It is a specialised stream in Kinesiology which involves using muscle monitoring to locate and identify imbalances within the meridian systems which may be causing pain, disease or dysfunction in the body.

β€’ It finds these imbalances by using the Hologram methods of Richard D. Utt, and then applying different therapy tools, based on Kinesiology, to correct them.

β€’ The AP system is an extremely holistic approach which incorporates a wide range of healing techniques including:
o Acupressure
o Flower essences
o Tuning forks
o Emotional release exercises
o Lymphatic massage
o Foot reflexology
o Nutritional support
Only the specific therapies needed by the individual are used, rendering each balance entirely unique.

β€’ This therapy works on an incredibly deep level where subconscious programming like sabotaging beliefs and survival systems are active and driving unhealthy behaviours, emotions, relationships, illness and more.

β€’ By enabling individuals to bring these underlying issues to the surface, energy can be unblocked, emotions released and real physical changes can occur. Following a balance, a person feels a deep sense of peace and well-being, as well as a greater understanding of their thoughts, attitudes and feelings and how they are impacting their lives.

For any further information or to make an appointment, please contact me on FB messenger or by text on 0830078326.

With love and gratitude,
Fiona

I'm sure I'm like a broken record with clients banging on about nature but I truly believe it is THE most powerful healing tool we have at our disposal....and it's free! If you are stressed out, your nervous system is overwhelmed and overloaded - you need to give it a break.

Think of yourself as a radio: you can tune yourself in to whatever channel or frequency you like. Become more mindful of tuning OUT of any negativity around you by doing things like switching off the news (I haven't seen the news in years and I am the better for it), keeping clear of people who drain your energy or like to spend their time gossiping (this is one of the lowest energies around), giving yourself a break from social media, reducing your screen time as much as possible or taking a good hard look at the negative thoughts in your head, and making a conscious effort to detach from them and no longer listen to their nonsense.

Instead, try to tune yourself IN to positive energy by spending time with people who make you laugh and feel good, engaging in creative activities or hobbies that soothe your soul, reading inspiring, healing books, watching light-hearted, feel good shows or movies on TV....and most of all, making sure to spend quality time each week in nature, whether it be a park, forest, by a river or lake. Taking your shoes off and walking barefoot on grass or soil is amazing for the body, with a long list of health benefits including reducing stress levels, calming the nervous system and having an anti-inflammatory effect on the cells of the body.

There is healing in the earth - use it. As John Muir says: 'Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.' (and preferably, you're not wearing shoes πŸ˜‰)

Even though all types of yoga are helpful in reducing stress levels, Yin Yoga is particularly beneficial as it is a very slow moving, nurturing and mindful practice. It is a wonderful way to start the day, before you face in to the busy pace of the day, or equally healing at the end of the day to unwind before bed. There are lots of yin yoga videos to be found on YouTube, however, Yoga with Kassandra is one of my favourites. Why not give it a try? Your body and nervous system will thank you β™₯️

If you're feeling stressed out or overwhelmed, something you can do right now to help your body is cut down your caffeine intake. Why not switch from your regular latte or cappuccino to a caffeine-free turmeric latte? I know it may sound a little weird but I recently bought the Pukka one myself and it's surprisingly delicious! Turmeric is also a fantastic anti-inflammatory, which can help counteract the inflammation in the body caused by chronic stress. I like to make mine with almond milk, a spoon of raw honey and some cinnamon. Yum πŸ˜‹

Breathing is the most important thing you can do to lower stress levels and bring your nervous system back into balance. If you are feeling stressed, you are most likely breathing shallow breaths into your chest, as opposed to into your belly, which keeps the body stuck in the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) instead of in the calm, centred space of the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest). There are lots of detailed books and research out there supporting the power of the breath to shift the body out of fight or flight, but the bottom line is this - if you can change the way you breathe, you can change the way you feel! (How amazing is that?)

Max Strom is a wonderful expert in the field and has done massive work in the field of breathwork to help people recover from chronic stress, anxiety and insomnia. Check out his fascinating TED talk in the video, or go straight to some of his breathing exercises by clicking on the links below. β™₯️

This week, I want to share some tips on how to deal with stress. It is a complex subject which can effect people to varying degrees, ranging from a mild level of stress and anxiety to chronic levels that can manifest illness in the body (such as chronic fatigue syndrome). Each case needs to be treated on an individual basis, but there are a few things that can benefit us all, no matter where we are at right now.

There are a long list of remedies out there that may help support your body in recovering from acute/ chronic stress. For today, however, why not check out the two Bush flower remedies below and consider if either of them resonate with you?

The first remedy is the Emergency Essence, which is most beneficial if you are suffering from acute stress/ panic/ anxiety/ emotional upset. It provides comfort and reassurance in the moment during times of extreme stress or if you are going through a personal crisis.

The second remedy is the Calm and Clear, which is more suitable if you have a very busy, demanding and fast-paced lifestyle and find it difficult to relax and unwind. This essence can help you find an inner calmness and clarity, no matter how hectic your schedule, and encourages your mind to switch off at the end of the day. It is a very stabilizing and calming essence.

Both of these are in drop form but also come in a handy pocket spray and a beautiful body cream (they smell heavenly😍)
