We recently ran a quiz with the help of some very kind local businesses in kilkenny with the aim of purchasing an AED to be used in the local clubs in Westbank Palestine.
Yesterday myself and Megan were delighted to be able to meet with representatives of GAA Palestine and hand this AED over.
GAA Palestine are currently in the process of filling a shipping container with sporting equipment, medical supplies and other essentials.
They intend on driving this container to Jordan and over the boarder to the Westbank.
We are delighted to be able to help GAA Palestine in this small way.
JM Safety Training will also be providing First Aid supplies to be sent over.
So,Who are GAA Palestine and what do they do?
GAA Palestine is a non profit organisation set up to teach the children of the Westbank about the game of Hurling.
WHY DO THATπ€?
The idea this wonderful organisation have is to show the children of Palestine that even through hardship and pain that a small country on the outskirts of Europe has people who are thinking of them and they are not alone in the world.
Its a simple idea, but something so small as sending coaches over to show children how to play a sport can have a profound impact on their view of the world.
So what can you do?π€
GAA Palestine are always looking for sporting equipment and other essentials.
If you are reading this and have a few hurls knocking around please feel free to either contact JM Safety Training and we will try collect them to pass them on, alternatively please feel free to contact GAA Palestine directly https://gaapalestine.com/
Our aim at JM Safety Training is to send over further AED,s to the clubs currently being set up in the Westbank and perhaps a tutor to instruct the coaches and staff to use them.
Please visit the GAA website and learn a little of their amazing work.
