Yesterday morning, we were delighted to welcome our volunteer golf coaches to SOS Kilkenny. For an incredible 23 years, these dedicated volunteers have spent their Monday mornings mentoring and coaching the golfers we support.

Sadly, we recently lost one of our volunteers, Carl Widger, who never missed a Monday in all those 23 years. Carl’s commitment and kindness will always be remembered.

To honour his remarkable dedication, we have planted a tree in Carl’s memory on our Callan Road campus.

With thanks to funding from St. Canice's Credit Union's Community Connect Fund, we established the Lighthouse Dementia Café in April. The Café has since grown to welcome 20+ attendees each month. Here we are hosting a Christmas Jumper Day to raise funds for the The Alzheimer Society of Ireland at our December meetup.
