For international woman’s day I chose to spend the day at home doing things I love and I’m sharing some of them here.
Cleaver water (a cold or hot infusion of Galium aparine) is a potent spring tonic primarily used to detoxify the body by stimulating the lymphatic system and acting as a gentle diuretic. It helps reduce swollen glands, improves fluid balance to reduce bloating, and supports skin health, often used to treat conditions like eczema and acne.
Dandelion root is a nutrient-dense, antioxidant-rich, herb used to support liver detoxification, improve digestion, and manage blood sugar. It acts as a natural diuretic to reduce water retention, contains inulin for gut health, and may reduce inflammation.
Bathing with fresh spring dandelion leaves, often combined with the flowers in a warm bath, offers several therapeutic benefits for the skin and body, acting as a gentle detoxifying, anti-inflammatory, and soothing treatment. While much of the research on dandelions focuses on internal consumption, herbal tradition suggests that adding these plants to a bath can help with skin irritation, soreness, and relaxation.
