Hi and welcome to my face book page. I would like to tell you a little about my journey to little moments. I am a qualified and accredited Family Therapist who has worked in the public sector for almost 18 years with children adolescents and their families who are experience mental health difficulties. Recently I resigned my post to further develop my area of interest that of infant and parental mental health within my private practice in Kilkenny as this was not available to me through the public sector. Over the years I have spent a lot of time getting to know many wonderful families and was challenged to support them as best I could. I noticed a significant change in the pace of life in general and also a change for families who tried their best to be present with their children within the constraints of a culture that was imposing on family time and mental wellness overall. I furthered my training to include children's yoga, infant massage,parent & baby yoga, mindfulness, CBT, cirlcle of security evidenced based parenting programe for parents of children aged 0-5 year among others. I also spent two years training in a special social and emotional video based therapy called ‘Marte Meo’ this is a wonderful and very effective therapeutic tool for identifying and supporting mental health development in the context of significant relationships, it is particularily effective as a preventative practice within the early years . The program is grounded in attachment and social exchange theories and is invaluable in identifying and supporting attachment and bonding between infants and their primary caregivers. There is much research to support its relevence in supporting social and language development also. I am qualified to train those working with the pre-school age group to practitioner level in this progam with participants being awarded certificates from Tusla Child and Family Agency upon successful completion of the course. I value greatly the concept that every moment counts, hence the name “little moments”!! I am fully insured and Garda vetted and accredited.
I also accepts referrals for individual and family psychotherapy. I welcome you to contact me with any inquiries you may have and remember we don’t need to have difficulties to seek support, sometimes we just like to know we are on the right track and like to have some direction to keep going, for this reason I am also welcoming people to contact me at different stages of their families development for the purpose of psycho-education!!I will be posting on the page any upcoming groups to include ante-natal support, post natal groups, mindfulness groups and others.
