I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy of the highest ethical and professional standards to all members of society regardless of religious beliefs, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or educational background. Access to this healing is sometimes blocked by negative and destructive patterns that are formed when there is a need to adapt and survive difficult, traumatic or overwhelming experiences. In a collaborative, empathic, and safe atmosphere, I facilitate people’s connections to their own resources and foster the creation of a compassionate self that is free to make mindful choices and unhook old patterns. Through humanistic and somatically oriented approaches, I help people find new insights and awareness, build resiliency and create pathways to greater fulfilment. I work with people on issues related to depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, addictions, grief, and life stress. I have extensive experience with developmental trauma, sexual trauma; I offer additional expertise in the areas of relationships, sexual orientation, and gender identity. In the area of adoption and fostering, I work with all members of adoption/ fostered triads: adoptees, adoptive parents and birth parents. I offer a place to explore the experience and meaning of adoption, whether with parents at the beginning of the adoption process or with adjustment as a child grows up, or with adoptees as they explore their own identity, or with birth mothers as they decided to place a child for adoption .I have been involved in adoption and fostering for 20 years.
